Angie10Appreciate your comments. Just a boring bio tidit about myself that I'm sharing. I grew up on welfare, so “gov't cheese” does not count as real cheese. Although it did make good grilled cheese sandwiches.
My
adventures in real cheese-tasting goes all the way back to the 70s during my university days. As a student my financial situation was nonexistent. Even though I had a part time job through the college work-study program, most of the time I had no money for shopping. But I did have enough to catch the bus to the local shopping mall and go window shopping.
That was my idea of fun.
At the mall there was a cheese shop that laid out samples. I could not afford to buy any of the cheeses, but the samples were free!
Loved it! Good quality cheese in the USA is not exactly a cheap product. But these days, at my local grocery store they also give out free samples. The goat cheese I tasted at the store is delicious and savory. That's why I was surprised to see a recipe for a cheesecake made with goat cheese.
I love cheese and cheesecake!

Thanks for sharing, cmoneyspinner

I have to say cheese is something that grew on me over the years. Growing up, having a Scandanavian step-dad, we had a lot of the stuff; stinky, expensive cheese, expensive cheap and mid-range, we had it all. I wasn't really a fan until I got older. Now I love it but can't afford the really expensive cheese. But I also don't settle for rubbish like processed cheese LOL.
