Texting and driving

Postby prometeheus » 11 Jul 2015, 14:08

I have seen more news stories about teens texting and driving at the same time that it's not even funny. I know I would never attempt to do something like that even if it wasn't a law. BTW, I was saying that from the point of view as if I drove.
So basically what are your thoughts if your state, country, etc has this as a law? Do you think it's right or wrong. I believe it is right to protect our people and prevent less accidents in the world.

I think it's a horrible trend! I don't just see young people texting and driving anymore. I see people of all ages doing it now! It's disgusting and stupid and totally irresponsible! I just wish people would grow up, and accept responsibility!

I too observed this teenagers will be texting and driving. This is more dangerous. If it so important then they can park their vehicle aside and they can make a call or text to their people.

It's part of this phone addiction. You see those idiots all walking along staring at the phone. JUST WALK FASTER AND GET TO YOUR DESTINATION THEN YOU CAN TEXT ALL YOU WANT, NUMBNUTS!

Hi Friends,

It is most dangerous in texting while driving, this may leads to accidents and it may be dangerous to that person and to other riders also. I do not suggest texting and driving at a time.

I don't understand why people can't seem to be away from their mobiles for even just a short time. It is really dangerous to try and multi-task while behind the wheel. It only takes a second to be distracted for somebody to get hurt. Also, when driving you can't always assume that people around you like other drivers and pedestrians will follow traffic rules appropriately at all times. So it is important to stay alert.

I have responded to a phone call while driving but now that they really tightened the laws I don't touch my phone while driving. I have no reason to and whoever is calling or texting can wait. It is not worth it, my friend has a huge fine for texting and driving.

This is absolutely forbidden! In my opinion, who was caught having this behavior should be without driving license ... :o

I am not a fan of people who texts while driving or calling while driving, why? because they are not keeping the safety of their passenger. There are lots of series of incident that people died because of this and they seem not learning from that experienced.

Driving and doing basically anything but driving is really dangerous, not only to yourself but to others. My father used to text, call and drive at the same time, which is why I don't now. Today, with voice control getting better and better on phones, there's fewer reasons to pick up your phone and look at it while you're driving. You never should, but the reasons are still fewer than just a few years ago.

Most don't even use the talk to text feature. I see people reading and trying to type while driving. It's insane. If they kill someone, they will have to deal with that for the rest of their lives (if they don't kill themselves too). Yes, it's way too dangerous to ignore. If people are dumb enough to do it then apparently there does need to be a law.

It's very irresponsible. Not only can the people texting get into a big accident but they're also putting others in danger.

It's lawless in my country regarding the issue. I've seen people, not teenagers who are texting while driving. It's fragile, they know it, but they still text while riding their car or bicycle.
