Dealing With Job Rejection

Postby WorkAtHomeGal » 04 Jul 2015, 05:31

Well for the past 5 years I have been dealing with a lot of job rejection, much of it in my town. 3 of more recent jobs I got I was able to get with a good word going in from a co worker who knew me. This really alarms me to know places here do this, it makes it hard for anyone to get a chance with getting a job.

Online is not much better. Every other week I get a rejection email for failed writing or transcription test. I won't lie it is upsetting to the soul. I write out how I feel which helps but the upset feeling still lingers.

Does anyone here face this as well? And how do you cope?

It is not easy to deal with rejection, but it is part of life! The best way to deal with rejection is to learn to live with it and learn from it. Try to think about why you were rejected and needs to improve something. We all need to improve anything ever.

But remember that it is more likely the problem is not in you ... There are many people trying the same. Try to improve everyday and whenever it is rejected always try other projects. ;)

Thanks and I do agree that I really need to take rejection as it is and think of what I did wrong. I know I don't always keep eye contact during some interviews so that makes it hard in some ways. So that is one thing to work on. And I need to find a way to better grammar for those writing jobs perhaps.

And try other projects yes which is the plan.

I always think of the successful people who got rejected a couple more times before they finally made it just like Steve Jobs.

Do not be discouraged! Is Part of the game. Here in Brazil it is hard to find jobs amid an economic crisis.

I went through a horrible time trying to get the job I have. I tried for a year to get hired, but I had been out of the work force for so long, I guess they just weren't blown away by my application. LOL Finally a family member who worked for the company convinced her manager to call me for an interview. I was really bummed out by that time, but at least, I finally got the job. I guess we just have to keep on trying.

Maybe not the best approach for everyone, but I tend to overcompensate by forcing myself to think positively. Positive vibes, positive energy, positive results. It works for me.

Everyone gets rejected and it has more to do with the people doing the rejection than the person being rejected. Have a look at some famous people who were rejected. As others have said try to view it in a positive way and move on. If possible think of it is another step closer to being successful. I know it's not easy and I'm not great dealing with rejection myself.

This is true I have read up on people who are famous and were rejected. Good point. And I have been trying to be more positive because really it is not something I need to let me down. I could be positive and try to move on from it.

Failures are the stepping stones for success. So definitely you will be concentrating to improve more on the subject you are being rejected . So in this way u will become expert in all subjects and very soon get a job of your choice with higher pay.
