In 1971, I repaired this lady's refrigerator and it was my last day on the job as I was quitting to go to work for a bank collecting money on delinquent accounts. I also recovered stolen credit cards and served legal papers to fugitives that the police couldn't find. (Yes, it was a very exciting occupation. )

Anyway, I asked her out to go hit golf balls. (How's that for a pick up line? )

Anyway, she said yes and we were married in 1972. Our 45th wedding anniversary is May 5, 2017.

She had 3 children by her previous marriage that were 9, 10, & 11 years old when I married her. She is 9 years my senior.

It has been a wonderful and exciting 45 years and we still hit if off very well.

I met my husband in the highschool, I had never seen him, one day it was raining so hard and I forgot my umbrella, when I finally got into the school I was totally soaked in water. I went to the common roomwhere every school students were and I tried to find someone I knew. I saw a friend, she didn't attend my class but I sat down next to her and my future husband was sat in my friend's table too. With the rain my eyes make up (mascara) was all under my eyes, he started make fun of me, saying things like "C. tell your friend that she cannot do the make up with the car's paint spray gun" I hated him that day, but he got my attention.

This year we will celebrate 12 years of marriage. We have two children, a boy with 8 and a girl with 4.

I met my husband through mutual friends. We became fast friends too and just kept it at that for several months. A bunch of us would hang out together. He and I got closer and closer until one night he (finally) kissed me. We married about a year later.

He's still my best friend after 21 years of marriage.

Wow, there's so many great stories of successful marriages here, such an inspiration! Congratulations to everyone. My husband and I will have been married 11 years this June. We've been together 14 years, and he's my best friend

Our relationship started as friends. He was very keen from the outset, but I wasn't sure because I was fed up of dating losers LOL. Everyone around me, including my brother loved him and thought we'd be good together, and they were right. He truly is the one true love I've ever had.

We have only been married for a little over 5 1/2 years at this point, and we married late in life, (he was 41 and I was 42) but we are perfect for each other and the best of friends. Incidentally, my parents knew each other for exactly six weeks before they got married... which was 52 years ago. I guess in some cases there really is such a thing as 'love at first sight'.

I agree, my wife and I decided to marry after 3 weeks and we have been married over 45 years now and still going.
