You could have hired a taxi service rather than drive yourself My niece hired a taxi and did a good job driving around Canada - they were short distances at a time. .

This was in bus with tourist group so I didn't drive it. Also taxi in international routes is not option. To expensive.

I own a car because I love cars, but that’s mostly a “want”. I own a car because they are a necessity to travel around the metropolitan area I live in

Yea, cars are often considered a liability but at the end of the day, we still need them to make things easier.

I have two cars, and I drive almost every day to go to work. I own a BMW and a Tesla. My husband drives the Tesla as he works farther from home than I do. We decided to buy an electric car because our solar panels help reduce our electricity bill, so it is cheaper than diesel.

The answer is yes and no! Surprised? I have no car in India bcause I slold it off long ago as I live in another country, I have a scooter here though. But back in Australia we have two cars. You will be surprised that cars like Tesla and BMW are priced at less than half compared to what they cost in India due to import duty.

Yes those cars are cheaper there, over here the average man can't afford getting a Tesla.

In India people survived without owning vehicles but not so I believe when one lives in a foreign country

I do own a car and use it quite a bit for getting to and from work and other activities I do out of the house. Most of my commutes are somewhere in the 15-30 minute range from my house, depending on where exactly I'm going.

Technically yes, but I don't drive so it's my husband who drives it, and sometimes takes me places in it. Otherwise I walk or take the bus or a taxi. I live close enough to where I work to walk there if I need to.

How about your grocery shopping? I guess that's the only place where you miss a car of your own otherwise buses and trains are easily available and that too witout many passengers inside them. I travel in public transport on weekends cause on weekends they are almost free, any distance any number of times.
