Excited to go school

It's back to school here. School year 2025-2026 officially opened on June 16. Hundreds to thousands students flocked to their respective school like elementary, high school and college both in public and private.

I got two granddaughters who were excited to go to school. One is Sophie, a grade 7, who just graduated from elementary and Skye, 3-year old who is enroled in kinder at National Child Development Center, a government sponsored preschool.

As their grandpa, I was more excited than them to see them in their new school uniforms.

You have a different school schedule than we do in Ireland. Primary school children (mostly children 12 years old and under) will get their school holidays this week and return to school at the end of August. They are excited to be getting their summer holidays and will also be excited about going back to school when they are over.

It's a special joy to see grandchildren starting a new school year! Sophie and Skye are embarking on an important educational journey, and it's so inspiring. Their school uniforms bring a sense of pride and hope. As a grandparent, witnessing this milestone is a blessing.

It's interesting how that's different in other places. Here in Australia the School year starts in January and ends in December. Our summer holidays are from early December to late January.
