This dog is called Nureongi. This yellow dog is endemic to South Korea and starting 2027, it's about to be close to extinction. Why? This dog breed was originally created for meat purposes. South Koreans used to eat the meat of this dog, especially during summer and winter. And since dog meat will be banned in South Korea starting 2027, the breeding of this dog will be stopped because they were never bred for pets. People never kept them for pets, so they're about to get extinct. Their story is similar to the Hawaiian Poi dogs. There used to be a breed of dogs in Hawaii called the Hawaiian Poi dogs. Hawaiian natives used to eat the meat of that dogs, but when American influence comes to Hawaii, the locals were banned from eating dogs, so the dog breed got extinct. And I have a feeling that this yellow dog will be extinct. The looks of this dog reminds me of a Shiba Inu. And they actually look cute, but yeah, South Koreans look down on this dog and see this as a livestock animal. But because of the new animal rights movement there, and many South Koreans now prefer to have dogs over children, animal rights are becoming strong in South Korea. Although the animal rights, I think, will cause the extinction of this dog breed.

With an increase of pet lovers in South Korea, most South Korean couples rather have a fur baby over children. That's why their population is dying. Aside from that, you know, with K-pop and K-dramas becoming mainstream in the U.S., they want to be more pleasing to the Western crowd. So they're trying to stop eating dogs and promote eating goats because goats are supposed to taste like dogs.

Something interesting!! I wonder why not Animal rights go after other animals that are bred for meat only. This particular breed is like any other animal bred for meat like goats, lambs etc. Why to single out dogs??

But let's not forget the chickens, cows, and others who suffer silently. An animal's rights shouldn't depend on its species, but on our humanity. Let's see them all with compassion, bro.

It is sad to see that some dog breeds are in danger of extinction. We need to educate society about the value of these creatures and the importance of protecting them. Instead of using them as food, let's value them as human friends. Animal protection and strict laws are very important.

It is heartbreaking to see certain breeds of dogs facing extinction. Although they were once used for food, changing societal attitudes bring hope. Instead of being lost, they may find new opportunities as pets or service animals. Let's continue to educate and protect life!
