Meatless Italian Dishes

Postby Spontaneo » 24 Feb 2025, 11:55

I know that we have vegetarian topics, but my question is specific.

Do you know of any meatless Italian dishes?

I already know about vegetarian lasagna and vegetarian wedding soup.

I could google but would like to know from you real people.

What would also be nice if the recipes are inexpensive.

Veg Pizzas, Pastas and I suppose Lasagna.
For rest, I will have to do some search.

Thank you.

In the past, I attempted to bake a cauliflower pizza and caught the oven on fire.
I love pasta, but can only now chew on Orzo and ramen due to dental work.
Lasagna is soft and I have not had any in a while. I like to prepare lasagna in the Crock-Pot. Thank you for the tip! ;) ;)

I have a vegan Italian cook book. This one is good.

I often make veggie spaghetti bolognese with TVP (textured vegetable protein) mince. You basically make it the same way, only substitute the mince.

How could I substitute "chickpea flour"? I really like the recipe. Thank you!

When I prepare mozzarella sandwiches, I do this, grab 2 pieces of bread, top each with mozzarella, place in air fryer and cook for 5 minutes on 400 F. However, I usually prepare with pepperoni with the mozzarella, but I know that you do not consume meat.

I think that I have already mentioned this somewhere but I think worth repeating.

A few months ago, while browsing reddit, I found where there was a person wanting to get rid of their addiction to Italian subs!

A person said to get rid of the addiction by preparing a sub roll with all the fixings for a sub just not to include the meat. Got rid of the addiction! ;) ;)

What do you think? Make sense?

Are there really people who are addicted to Italian subs?

I just had found a person on reddit that was. I can relate as I am addicted to homemade bread pizza as the pepperoni is an ingredient that I cannot seem to give up.

I have some rolls, lettuce, cherry tomatoes and Italian dressing. Do you think that I can give up my addiction?

If you are not eating so much of it that it is causing you problems, maybe you should just enjoy it :)

You are right but I still have a problem... When my dental work is finished, I am not going to be able to chew on my bread pizza until I have false teeth, which could take a while.

So, I need to be able to wean myself off of pepperoni.

I may have a solution though. I used to have Bella chopper until I lost the lid. Maybe I can buy a new Bella chopper and chop up pepperoni then mix with cream cheese or cream of mushroom soup? What do you think?

I bought a new Bella chopper and the contraption doesn't work.

My blender is not exactly the best or greatest.

Anyway, I would like a meatless meal to have for Mondays.
