Why do you not cut your nails at night? I've not heard that one before. Also "don't kick broom". Do people normally kick brooms that they need to be told not to? Why?

What I have learned is earlier on means many years ago when there was no electricity people preferred to cut nails during day time only and from there this developed as a superstition and about kicking broom, it must be to keep kids in check as many times kids may think of kicking or start playing with broom so must be from there these things and many more things started as a superstition

That makes sense about the nail cutting. The broom one I still don't understand. Just cultural differences I suppose.

Some people in my family believe that peacock feathers are bad luck. I don't know why. They're pretty easy to avoid though.

Years ago, a friend wrote her recipe for fried rice on a small piece of paper.

I could never remember what I did with the piece of paper.

A few days ago, I looked down on the floor by my desk chair. There was the recipe!

What would you think?

One superstition that I find highly ridiculous is that an itchy right palm means that money is coming. No value offered. Just let your right palm itch and you cash out.

I kinda have a superstitious belief that once you hear sounds outside the window, I'd always become very terrified thinking that I'm about to be visited by a ghost. I even shouted out of fear on one occasion then my neighbor who was passing by came to my rescue.

Over the years, I have heard of quite a few.

For example, don't have chicken salad, don't have ramen noodles, don't write about alcohol, don't consume honey, don't have eggs, etc.

Unreal.

I want all of the above. For example, I prepare my own homemade protein smoothies and shakes which call for eggs.

How about you?

My country is filled with more superstition than i can count. One of them is not shouting someone's name at night cause demons will know your name and use it.
