Could you not just make enough oatmeal to eat for one meal at a time so you don't have to deal with leftovers?

Yes, you do make sense, but I do like having leftovers to have for grab and go.

Starting the day with a healthy breakfast like that can really boost your mood and energy.

I use oats but not so frequently. I have other nutritious grains and milletes in my diet and we keep rotating them. We do make something out of oats at least 3_4 times in a month.

When you do during the month, what do you prepare out of oats?

Most weeks have 5 days of Whole Oats (1/2 cups in 1 cup boiling water for 8 minutes) add a little 2% milk, some fresh blueberries and half a banana on the side. Finally a small chunk of one of my wife's oatmeal raisin cookies and I am good to go. The other two days I slip in a three fresh egg omelet if I spot some good fillings in the fridge.

1/2 cup is healthy but would never fill up my belly! I need atleast 1 cup.

Yes, blueberries are delicious but difficult to find near here.

Bananas are so expensive.

Usually I have porridge with maple syrup or honey. While camping recently I forgot to bring either so I added a spoonful of apricot jam. It was quite nice.

Is maple syrup expensive in Australia? Where I live, I have to buy regular pancake syrup.

My wife volunteers with the Community Food Pantry twice a week and gets Blueberries ( and many other berries) as well as bananas and most of the food we eat all for free.

I love it, but I've only ever had the stuff from packets that you microwave LOL, so probably not the most healthy version of the meal... It tastes really good though which is the main thing!

If it tastes good and keeps you full, that’s what matters.

How do you prepare your oatmeal? In the microwave or stovetop?
