Why would the pilot cut engine fuel? Why?

Postby kat82 » 19 Jul 2025, 06:55

The reports about the India air crash make me think deeper though can't get an answer. I really wonder if true, why would the pilot decide to die with all of that number? Honestly why?

People think its accident, this is why some pilot school do not allow people with adhd and bipolar disorder from becoming pilot because there are things they wont notice

But is said that he had just passed the Test. That is why I like people who are talkative since they can show actual compared with the silent ones who can keep it going... So sad if true.

The Pilots were very experienced. Nobody can claim that only Pilots can turn off the switch.
Were Engines and all systems onboard totally working fine?
It is a preliminary report and the way the Investigating Board has been composed and high stakes Boeing being involved, many of us here feel that the probe is not impartial.
Plus many International (Non Indian) aviation experts too have flagged serious comments regarding the preliminary findings.
Let us see when the final report comes out.

Well people with this issue can be unpredictable sometimes, and it's also possible it might be someone else. The pilot is dead and no way of defending himself.

More and more pilot is under big stress. I think AI pilots should be more developed. From my oppinion, it is easier train pilot than a car driver.

But would you trust an AI to be your pilot?

Medicated people with ADHD should be perfectly safe as pilots. Loads of people with ADHD work in jobs which create a lot of adreneline, like as pilots, EMTS, in the military etc. because people with ADHD often thrive under pressure and don't tend to panic. The ones who are diagnosed and have meds would be much safer then the many out there who aren't diagnosed. I'm not disagreeing with you that flying schools do this btw, just saying that it's stupid and unfair.

Re.bipolar, I don't think it would make you not notice things. It's a mood disorder.
Is there anything to suggest that the pilot had either of these conditions, or are you just guessing?

I don't know why the pilot would cut the engine fuel. It's possible we will never know. I wish people wouldn't jump to blaming it on any specific mental health issue though since the stigma towards people with mental health issues is bad enough as it is. I'm very sorry for the families of all the people who died. It's a real tragedy.

How many accidents we have, maybe I even would. Worst part is go up and landing. Many pilots most time use autopilot for flying plane. They don't change directions so often.

AI can be used to guide Military and other drones or Pilotless planes.
Not safe for those with real people.
AI can guide not fully substitute.
