Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Postby Spontaneo » 05 Sep 2022, 01:24

I sleep with the light on. My ceiling light and lamp are on all day in my office. I have 3 flashlights.

Yep. I am afraid of the dark.

I don't ever recall being afraid of the dark, even back as a kid. Some of my best pranks back then were after dark. Come to think of it, my little brother might be afraid of the dark ..

I turn on a light when I need it but turn it off as soon as I am done with whatever. I never bother to turn on the light just to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I can easily negotiate my entire home without even opening my eyes.

I frequently enjoy going outdoors at night just to star watch and that often includes walks to different areas to get better views depending on trees in the way. I do carry a flashlight in case I encounter some critter. Even bears will jump and run with a bright light in their eyes.

Generally speaking, there is nothing there in the dark that is not there in bright light anyway. Nyctophobia is likely a result of some incident lingering in the subconscious memory. Maybe you could take a trip to a nutcracker to discuss it and get over it. At the very least you might be able to lower your electric bill by turning off those extra lights when not needed.

I'm not aftaid of the dark. I actually find it quite comforting. I love it when it's dusk and raining. I always turn off my lights and get cozy in bed.

I do like the rain. I find rain to be good writing weather.

No it depends of the situation if its in a dangerous place I would be a little afraid ,but in most cases I would not be surprised or afraid of being in the darkness.

I can feel where it is coming from. For me, I cannot sleep with lights in my room. However, if I am staying or living in another house, I cannot sleep without switching on the lights. I don't like the lights turned off after watching scary movies, so that's a unique circumstance.

Nope. I do put a light on if I moving around at night though so I don't trip over anything.

I like the room to be dark for sleeping. I sleep with an eye mask on so that the morning sun doesn't wake me up too early.
