Contaminated drinking water

Postby nakitakona » 25 Jun 2025, 03:40

Polluted drinking water

Since the time Canlaon volcano erupted, the potable water of the people of our small city wasn't safe for drinking for the main spring was contaminated with ashfall.

Our government thru the Department of Social Welfare Department (DSWD) took action immediately by delivering processed mineral water.

The regional DSWD dispatched their high-tech water processing machine to purify the contaminated tap water .

How does your government address this kind of water problem of calamity victims?

Thankfully we don't have volcanos like that in Ireland, however, sometimes water gets contaminated for other reasons. When it happens people usually have to rely on purchasing bottled water. It's easy to forget, for me anyway, how lucky we are when we have clean drinkable water on tap.

This is a quick and decisive action.
It probably saved the population from diseases that contaminated and unsafe water.
Here too Government takes appropriate action although at times, with information delay, there could be a few cases of people falling ill due to bad quality water.

Yes that's true, like the people in the other compound often comes to fetch water from ours saying they can't drink theirs, still don't know why though.

Here, the government usually steps in fast during disasters. The disaster response teams and even the army help out. NGOs and local groups also help in with clean water and filters. It’s a team effort overall.
