Do you do any Volunteer work?

Postby Jinglebells » 20 Aug 2015, 02:20

If so , what do you do? I like to help out in the food bank, I will either work inside to stock the shelf , and pass out canned goods, when people come. Or I just donate canned food , they are in need all the time. I do enjoy serving meals, they will serve meals on the holidays for anyone who would like to come eat.

I have done volunteer work, helping with soup kitchens for the homeless, welfare rights advice groups and as a community radio presenter - all more rewarding than any paid work I ever had. :D

I used to do volunteer dog walking but the organisation hardly ever rang me so I gave up. Quite often it was for people who were disabled or too old to walk their dogs and I must say I enjoyed it. I have toyed with the idea of fostering dogs too but I'm not sure how my own little dog would feel about it.

I used to do a lot of volunteer work, but then I got very busy with school, and then I got very sick and had to leave school. I would very much like to do some kind of volunteer work again... there is a food bank that needs volunteers, but the mandatory training session is quite early in the morning and I've had trouble getting over there while still getting the kids to school on time. I had hoped to get over there during the summer while they were out of school, but that didn't work out as I had hoped. I'm still trying!

Never did volunteer work and don't see myself doing it in next year or so because my job doesn't leave me much free time. I would maybe volunteer if it had to do something with animals.
