Blogging seems to have lost its appeal lately. Do you make a living by blogging? If so, how?

Blogging is not just about making money. It also has the advantage of letting you clarify your thoughts by writing them down and allowing you to have online discussions about those thoughts with others. I updated fergal.blog monthly for some time, but haven't done much with it recently. It is just a simple html page that I had been using to keep track of what I was doing and working on. It was never intended to make money.

I have tried to make by blogging in past but not successful. I think it worksbonly when you have huge traffic.

Having a large audience can certainly help in gaining visibility and engagement. Also, building a blog takes time and consistency.

Gen Z prefers Vlogs over Blogs. People prefer videos specially shorts.

Not everyone blogs for this purpose. For most, it has monetary benefits at the back of their minds. I feel one should not be a talent writer, but also have some know-how or assistance in the developing of the blog ( the technical part) and also have the means of drawing traffic to it. There are multiple factors to consider for a blog to be successful, if you want to blog for a living.

Social media websites, like, Youtube, Instagram and TikTok have become very popular for sharing content, making it harder for traditional blogs to stand out. However, there are still many bloggers who make a living from their blogs.

Early bloggers may have had a head start in building their audiences and monetising, new bloggers can still find success by focusing on specific niche.
