ToTW Ignoring PayPal and Paying to Bank Accounts direct

Postby raaman » 09 Dec 2024, 14:42

Ignoring PayPal, why all revenue-sharing websites and forums are not paying the earnings of its members to their respective bank accounts in respective countries? I think it is very much possible in today's fast-evolving digital world. This will definitely save us from the hefty fees charged by PayPal for each transaction.

Each country has its own banking rules and requirements, which can make it difficult for a website to enable direct transfers to all users.

It is not possible for someone to stay in the UK for instance and credit your Indian local bank account. Not possible and would involve lots of technicalities.

Over here PayPal does not work, so we do not have any choice but to use a direct bank account.

I think wise.com is even more restricted than Paypal. Last I checked, Botswana wasn't eligible. I wish more sites paid via wire transfer because I've grown disgruntled with Paypal.

Have you used them oldbuddy? I've just had a look at their site and the fees seem quite expensive.

PayPal has smaller charges compared to banks. Can't forget when I was sent $50 direct to my bank and the bank took all of it in the names of remittance fees. That experience makes me choose PayPal over sending to banks.

Making cross country bank transactions needs following the rules and regulations of the banks, each country will have it's own. It won't be an easy task. Moreover, users might not feel comfortable sharing the bank details for security reasons. Someone like me won't be comfortable

Exactly. Many people prefer to use Paypal for convenience and security, they don’t have to share their bank details.

In the first place Paypal is best recommended for account security.

When I was about to receive my first payment for my job online, I was required to open a bank account and I did but my payment couldn't be pushed through. And the suggestion is Paypal. Therefore Paypal served as middleman in transferring my earnings to mybpersonal bank account.

I understand nowadays anyone can use his local bank to receive payment from online job abroad. And there's an international code for every bank for to enter.

Now your suggestion has its frution but of course there's a corresponding fees for money transfer and its conversion to your country's currency.

Paypal has been a reliable option for many online workers, specially as a secure middleman for international payments.

Because sending directly to bank accounts has fees and most companies do not want to pay those fees. The fees are especially high for international transfers. Plus if anything were to go wrong, they'd have to call their banks or the international bank. It's a lot of work. Using Paypal is so much more convenient since they're very well known, and they have their own customer support.
