Your blog is very nice and it shines a spotlight on a beautiful part of the world.

So sorry, I don't know how I missed your comment, cmoneyspinner! IThank you, I truly appreciate it :)

But what I was going to say is we've tried the nicey nicey thing and it didn't quite work. I guess people find that boring  We now tackle controversial topical issues and turn them into opinion pieces from time to time. I think that's actually helping improve our overall stats as well.

Your blog inspired me to create a Tumblr blog focusing on Africa. I'm doing nicey nicey and also sharing controversial articles. My late husband often listened to a lot of African music. Some music is for entertainment. But some of the words in the songs paint a graphic picture of politics and events that are taking place in Africa. Kind of like our sixties protest music here in America.

I have not tried this but I think publishing on controversial topics draws traction and you get a lot of views. However, this does not mean you start publishing misleading content.

Ever since we started tackling controversial topical issues, we've observed a spike in our stats! However, these types of articles take a lot of time, research and thought, so it takes time to put them together. As such, we aren't able to churn them out as often as we'd like to ** deep sigh**.
