About Website Content

Postby smithloo » 10 May 2024, 07:42

Hello
I am fairly new to website development, and I have a quick question about content on my website.
I have a website for my interior decorating company, and I sell a few home decor items through an online store on the same website.
I have about 500 cooking recipes laying around from when I was a head chef, I want to add these recipes to my interior decorating website as an extra source of generating traffic. My questions is, would adding this amount of content not related to interior decor effect my interior decorating traffic negatively?
In my search to improve my website content, I recently came across an insightful article discussing about write content https://www.qualitybacklink.net/how-to- ... r-website/, which provided some useful general guidelines. Should I apply these techniques? Have they helped us improve website ranking?

You could lose any SEO you are currently enjoying and certainly fail to bring any new Interior Decorating to visit. What would be your motive?

Categorise your content well. That is enough for Google to understand it well.

It could both have postive and negative effects on your traffic. On positive side, it can attract a wider audience and increase the overall traffic to your website. People who are interested in cooking may also be interested in interior decorating. But if, majority of your audience is specially interested in interior decorating, they may be put off by the sudden shift in focus to cooking.

To reduce the negative effect, you could create a separate section or subdomain specifically for the cooking recipes.

Publishing a large number of recipes on an interior design website can overwhelm both your audience and search engines. However, by creating a dedicated cooking section or subdomain, your site will remain organized and attract new visitors without compromising your focus. Content writing techniques are beneficial because they enhance the quality of valuable content and boost search engine rankings, while also building credibility and trust. This leads to steady, organic growth without undue pressure, and your site maintains its credibility in both areas.
