For the first time in the Street Fighter History, Ryu is not the Poster boy of the game case. Luke, the character designed after Logan Paul is the new face of the franchise.



The Protagonist of Street Fighter III is Alex but Ryu was still in the box art. The protagonist of Street Fighter fighter 4 is Abel and Ryu was still the poster boy. The Protagonist of Street Fighter 5 are Karin and Rashid and Ryu was still in the poster.

Now Capcom is going All out with Luke. They are confident that Luke will be the face of the game from now on based on their research on what Gen Z likes. Ryu is still playable but story mode will focus on Luke. Ryu,Ken and Chun-li are on their 50s now so they want younger characters like Luke, Jamie and Kimberly as the new faces of Street Fighter.

Capcom's reasoning for replacing the OG trinity, Street Fighter II fans had outgrew Street Fighter, they are characters of their own Era. Luke, Jamie and Kimberly resonates with this Generation more.



Capcom uses Luke for every promotional art.

They will never ever crossover, Capcom refuse to have their characters dismembered a lot of the Street Fighter characters are minors.

Yes, it is not uncommon for video game companies to focus on younger characters in their games to attract a younger audience. It's also possible that Capcom is trying to create a new storyline and expand the Street Fighter universe by introducing new characters like Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly.

i already don't like a lot of the changes in street fighter.. but ken and Ryu and Chun li will always be the faces of street fighter.. just like Michael Keaton.. will always be the best batman

I think it has something to do with Fans being upset Ryu end up killing M.Bison. They think other characters deserves it more. Before Look there had been attempts to replace Ryu before.

Luke is their attempt to get Gen Z, He served US Military, He loves videogames and Anime ...He is designed after the Paul Brothers.

From the Street Fighter 6 newcomers though my favorite had been Manon and Jamie. Jamie had the most badass Finisher I had everseen..
