Biohacking - future or not

Postby mrki444 » 12 Jan 2022, 16:47

I am watching series BioHackers and I really wonder is this future.

Climate changes affect more and more on food source. Probably change in plant gene will be needed so we can have enough food and that change in gene in base for biohack.
Some people think biohacking viruses we got corona accidentaly, but that is different story.

Do you think is biohacking future or not?
Will we see glowing plants in night instead of street lamps?

They are now making genetically modified mushrooms that eats plastic, so plastic will be eradicated. Recently they make genetically modified animals to become organ donors for humans.

Yes. Thanks to Crispr-cas9, it makes geneticists edit genes. In fact, a biophysicist in China was imprisoned for gene-editing twin babies. I think, there is illegal gene-editing happening today sponsored by rich people, they just do it privately.

I just watched the first episode on Netflix, so its a German Sci-fi. There is a guy who have turned his hand into a credit card which is a technology that exists now.

In real life
There is a scientist who is making a GMO plant with Gold found on its sap.

I just hope that we do not get any maniacs making "Human Killing" Robotic Humans to establish their Kingdom on earth. But it cannot be totally ruled out totally in the future!

It would be cool if they do that to venus fly traps, to make them dual purpose. I have them inside my house to get rid of bugs.

I think thst biohacking is chanhing the nature course which is not right. We should let nature takes it course, otherwise we might end up ending our lives instead

I think GMOs are already a form of biohacking. So yes, biohacking in a bigger scale is a huge probability in the future.
