Chimeric mouse - 96% mouse and 4% human

Postby mrki444 » 16 Jun 2020, 08:50

A being in which cells and tissues of several different organisms live together is called a chimera. There are currently no examples from nature but only laboratory samples. The most recent example is the mouse-human chimera, a product of research and work by Professor Jian Feng and his team of experts in the laboratory of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Buffalo State University. Feng and his team "created" a mouse-human embryo containing up to 4% of cells of human origin, which is the highest percentage of human cells in any human-animal chimeric unit to date.

There is more information about it but are you scared with this research? I am since I didn't think I would read about it in my life.

This is a quite disturbing and frightening story. The potential implications of experimenting with DNA in this way are unknown. The moral and ethical implications of performing laboratory experiments on organisms which are part human make for uncomfortable thinking, as does the idea of animal experiments on normal or natural animals.

Here is many ethical questions open. Can we use it for organs growing but do we toruture animals in that way. Since it has partialy human DNA, can we consider it as human and what rights it has.

This is not chimera but it is very similar.

Scientist merged damaged human lung with live pig. Pig is not dead just under anesthesia. When they merged it, lung become more healthy every day. Looks pig bloodstream help human lung recover.

Many people need lung transplantation but there is not enough of it. Many lungs are damaged from smoking and other influence. Looks this tech could be helpful even this is also controverse method.

They are doing this so Animals can be used as organ and blood donor. They are starting with mouse but plans to do it with pigs.

This for me is just appalling. I know it's meant to be in the name of science but my question is, where do we draw the line? I'm disturbed by this and worry about how this entity will turn out. At the end of the day, the creature created in the lab still has blood running through its veins and feelings. IDK I'm torn. As it stands, I hate the idea of using any living being be it an animal or human for scientific research and refuse to use any beauty products that routinely employ animal testing.

You know what is scary about Animal organ donors?

There is a thing called Cellular memory. Basically you will inherit a passion of your donor.

A woman who hates sports got an American Football fan as a kidney donor and she didn't even know her donor is a football fan and out nowhere she became obsessed with American Football and craves to watch it.

A man got a painter as a donor and he didn't know his donor is a painter but he develops passion with painting.

There is also the case of a Vegan donor who made the person who owns his organ a vegan.

Then there is a man whom fell in love with the wife of his heart donor.

It think this is more psyhologica, not biological. People who receive organs often meet their donors and during it they find out what they do and just keep doing it. If you meet painter, you will from respect try start painting.

The Football woman though didnt even known her donor was a football fan. Majority of people who got cellular memory knows nothing about their donor.

Imagine if the donor was a pig who loves to bathe in mud and eat its own you know what.

Really? I didn't know that. In movies they almost every time meet donor and their family and stay friends.

Yup not all organ receivers met their donor's family. So yeah that made me hesitate with Animal donors because animal instincts might get inherited.

To me, the appropriate Headline should be "The Rise of Mini Frankesteins"
And well one can criticize my beliefs in movies, yet to me all this brings memories of Terminator 2, Terminator 3 and well some more sci fi movies.
And when one day, if we see some Hulk like figure actually destroying big buildings in our cities, who would be to be blamed?

I just got idea. What if somebody get organ from unidentified serial killer, I mean nobody didn't discover him, and receiver inherit that idea and start kill people? Can donor get free pass on court since he got that idea from donor?

That was disturbing since most cellular cases gets hobbies and talents of their donor. Serial killers have killing people as their past time.

In this article they mention how chimera is used for discovering new vaccine and below first image is bat and small text where they say how chimera is possible cause of Covid-19 virus.
Also they mention human monkey chimera in lab in Spain.

And now many people ask next question: Would you keep eating pigs flesh if you now it's relative is part of you or you would become vegan?

Also that Pig came from his DNA so it is technically his son or daughter. His donor is a baby big and pigs have lifespan of 20 to 60 years so if his body doesn't reject this pig organ, This 57 year old man will get additional up to 60 years.

I heard if a Person with diabetes got Pancreas transplant, Their diabetes will be cured. I heard the only pig organs humans can use are Kidney, heart and lungs. If Pancreas is possible, Diabetes will be a thing of the past.
