Do you have any suggestions for a simple hit / view counter for a website?

I've used https://www.hitwebcounter.com/ and it is fine for what I need, but sometimes it loads very slowly, so I would like recommendations for other options.

May be you would have to explore some code in a programming language like Java Script, VB script or may be something like pHP.
Did you check for some options on StackOverflow.com?

Yes and I recall that there was a site ittoolbox.com or with a similar name. That could also have some solution.
I am more into Db side but someone with a web programming background might help. May be you can ping a user named GuestHu here.

Google analytics or Histats or Statcounter.
I saw Statcounter few times but Histats and analytics I can suggest from first hand.

I use gogle analytics plugin and that shows detailed traffic data instead of just hits and traffic location.

They were good suggestions, I have previously used StatCounter and Google Analytics. Following mrki's suggestions I registered an account on HiStats, but for the moment I am still using https://www.hitwebcounter.com/ on FC Banners, it is a very simple and easy to use solution.

Hi Yugocean, yes it is free and quite easy to use. I've been using it on fcBanners.com and it is working quite well there.

We need to choose it wisely, if we don't choose the right one, we will surely end the site with lots of errors, many of the new creators don't know about this
