I doubt that is possible because business is the name of the game... One will have to pay for the rendering of service, I just hope it will become much affordable as time goes by...

I agree with you because even government itself is a business aiming to be profitable.

Yes.The internet brings freedom to its users in many ways it gives people the freedom to learn what they want, to speak with whom they choose, to air their opinions, and even to work with people they have never, and will never meet.

That was my first thought. If water is not free, how can the internet ever be free?
Nothing is really free. The government might decide to pay for it, but who gives money to the government?
I only wish it was fast everywhere. Perhaps cheap too, but fast and stable would be my priority.

Internet is a business and internet providers are making lots of money in the internet so I don't think they will allow it to be free. I just hope the internet becomes cheaper and cheaper so all people can access it

Even water is not free, oxygen is not free.
Nature only provides everything for free.

Internet should not be free because it is man made resource. Even the natural things like fruits , vegetables are not free , so Internet obviously can never be free except the free Wifi in some places like airport.

I will just love it more if the amount to subscribe is reduced..but it shouldn't be free. I enjoy how it operates.

I won't mind paying $1 for an internet subscription per month. It would be great.

It would be paradise if that would happen here because people have to buy the sim card with internet access for a price. You also have to pay for the load when your internet access is consumed.

I wonder what would the impact on the Internet be if it were free. Overloaded? Crashed? What?

The Internet has become a basic necessity in today's world. But the Internet provider companies need to run a business and giving it for free would be not a feasible thing to do. However, it can be cheap. In our country, the Internet is pretty cheap compared to other countries. And smartphones have reached even the poor households. Digital India campaign has picked up in recent years and there is stiff competition among Internet providers in the country making it very cheap.

Thanks to Ambani, he brought Internet competition.
