Do you hate the kind of politicians your country men had been putting into power? Are you tired of dealing with so many economic problems and natural disasters hitting your country? Do you want to help your country in your own small way? Do not underestimate your small contributions because somethings a small good did have a huge impact, It may not be today but in the future it will. Here are some things a small citizen like you can do to help improve your country.

1. It starts with your family! A family is the smallest unit of a country. More happy families means happier society. Look you cannot make every single family in your country happy but you can at least make yours happy. If you will raise your family with love and care then the future generations of your clan will be good contributors to society. Look majority of criminals came from neglectful abusive families. If your parents wronged you, well do not repeat their mistake to the future members of your family. If you have no plans to have kids, Well at least be the good Uncle or Aunt that can influence younger generations from your family.

2. Buy local products!- Yes buying local products made from your own country feeds your country's economy well. If your friends notice you have great experience with local products you might be able to influence them o buy locally too. Buying locally helps small business owners and small farmers have livelihoods.

3. Donate money to education based charities. Did you know corrupt people in power wants a dumb population because a smart high logic population will not vote for them in elections. Look if your country currently suffers in this hell pit, You can help future generations be better by helping scholars. The single scholar you help will eventually pay it forward and help more scholars. Charitities that focuses with girl's education is also good because more educated girls means less teen moms and less teen moms mean less criminals.

4. Report fake news trolls regardless if they go with your political beliefs or not. Fake news has been weaponized to manipulate the lower class to become puppets to corrupt politicians as they easily believe agendas. Reporting fake news spreaders in social network will save some intellectually challenged people from seeing them. Many young generation people are now believing a dictator made their country great in the past because of some fake history revisionism propaganda spread on facebook. So report those trash to help your country.

5. Care for the environment! I am almost zero waste as I bring my own containers in groceries. I think I made an article about it before.

Avoid littering things that are non biodegradable especially in bodies of water. Look clean rivers serves economies well. it also stops hunger because no one starves in countries with clean rivers because poor people can catch fish for food. Keep the rivers and oceans clean in your own way. Do not support companies that polutes waters as much as possible.

Yes i do agree that purchasing local made products help to increase our country revenue and reduce the cost of imported goods. In addition, it helps to provide more jobs for our local citizens too.

Well, there are too much ways we can help to improve our country. It's good to see this enumerated ways but for me just being a law abiding citizen is what we should practice even more from the very start. If people sees us being disciplined even just by simple rule they would immitate us and it would be a chain reaction. Descipline is a very start of changing something better.

Yes, education does makes a difference. Hence many politicians seem to prefer many people remaining uneducated or illiterate.

you have a great article here, I agree with all the points you mentioned except one, I don't donate money to institutions! In my country it was already proved that the major part of them are corrupt and the money never help those in need but goes to their pockets.
On the other hand I don't mind donate goods like clothes, grocery things, toys, etc, in fact I use to donate these things quite often.

Good neighbors are a positive point in our life, sometimes they are closer than some family, also they could be a support. I can't complain about my neighbors, so far they have been great.

The neighbors in our apartments rarely speak. On the plus side they also do not harass or cause trouble. They are quiet and keep to themselves. If they are out and happen to see you they will speak and be courteous. The neighbors that have been friendly towards me have been very genuine. Being in apartments though, our neighbors come and go very quickly. We get new neighbors on a regular basis.

I live in a rural area, I know most of my neighbors since childhood and some are really great. We even share the vegetables and fruits each one grow in our gardens.
