I was born in the latter half of the 50s and the new technology of my day was the television. What a marvelous invention. You could watch the news, movies, cartoons, and TV shows. During my day one of the most popular TV shows was “The Twilight Zone”. I am so glad that they have these local channels that show nothing but old movies and shows. But they don't have everything from back in the day. That's why I am also glad that there is YouTube.

I have watched all The Twilight Zone episodes and some of them I watched more than once. I was desparate to find an old TV show that was similar and stumbled upon a series called “One Step Beyond”.

This show, unlike The Twilight Zone, is supposedly “a matter of humn record”. In other words, it's been recorded that this stuff really happened to people. However, they can not explain why.

I'm enjoying this series. It's in black and white. The video quality is not that great. But the stories are very interesting. Although, if things like that happened to me, I'm not sure I would tell anybody.

Many complete series are uploaded on Youtube. I already finished I love Jeannie, The show got ruined when Jeannie Married her master.

I also watch 70's to 90's Japanese superhero shows.

I don't think I've ever watch a Japanese super hero show. I used to watch Shogun Theater. That came on every Saturday. I looked forward to it. I am not that familiar with Japanese TV. I may watch some to see what's going on. My kids watch a lot of anime.

I like old cartoon like G.I. Joe. Even it is very simple graphic it is still great cartoon.

Live action huh? You're talking to a lady who only knows about Godzilla. I'm still annoyed that the star of the movie The Last Samurai was Tom Cruise.

By the latter half of the 70s, I was starting my family. I remember watching a lot of Sesame Street and other educational kids programs. My husband was really big on that. As for cartoons, there were three that I liked (I mean we liked): Speed Racer, Star Blazers, and Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Masked Rider Black- About a teenage boy who got kidnapped and experimented by villains to turn him into their next weapon but he ends up escaping after the surgery and become the protector of the world. He is a bug themed superhero that rides a motorcycle.


Sukeban Deka
About a Teenage delinquent girl who becomes a vigilante that hunts down criminals and corrupt politicians using her Alloy Yoyo as a weapon. Yes her Yoyo can defeat guns.


Quentin Tarantino is such a big fan of this show that he added a chain
Yoyo Welding school girl villain on his movie KillBill.



Jetman-A precursor to Power rangers, A superhero team with bird powers. This show was marketed to little boys but become popular to moms because there is a love triangle between White Swan, Black Condor and Red Falcon. Its a Superhero show enjoyed by both sons and moms.




Then there is Kekko Kamen, A Superheroine who only wears a red bunny mask. Yes she is naked and she fights with a mask only because she is ashamed. She fights evil and protect justice but with a budget cut on the costume department.

Check this first series from Batman. It is so funny. His mask looks to big for him. I think designer should take head measuers more precisely.

@Netherrealmer Interesting story lines. I didn't realize that Quentin Tarantino was a fan. But I did watch Kill Bill. The fight scenes were awesome!

@mrki444 _ I was a regular viewer of that old TV show. The thing that used to tickle me was the KAPOW and BANG during the fight scenes.

I was born in the early 50s and loved all the American sitcoms like Cheers, Roseanne, Happy Days etc. Also a big fan of Friends and still watch the episodes on Netflix.

During our time, we do not had TV, we purchased B&W TV and it took lot of time and effort to bring color tv home. We only had one channel then, later in 1990's with satellite TV, everything changed. Now even that time is old for us.

When this show was first aired I watched it mainly because I liked Coach and Diane (I thought she was funnier than Kirstie Alley). The show held up after Coach died but it wasn't quite the same. I really really liked Coach.

I still watch sometimes Friends. Great show. All those you mention are much better than todays like Big Bang Theory or How I met your mother.

When yu say football, do you mean American football OR soccer? I have noticed that what some people in other countries call "football", we Americans call that game "soccer". Football is an entirely different game.

Soccer and American football are two completely different games. Soccer is played with a round ball that can be kicked and headed. (In the UK we call this football). American football, however, is more of a rugby type game in which the oblong shaped ball is thrown and passed as well as kicked. In the UK this is just called rugby.
