Any new fiction/non-fiction book(s) that you are into these days?

Postby ptrikha21 » 16 Aug 2020, 16:57

I read this Non-fiction book(and last of Stephen Hawkings' works) "Brief Answers to the Big Questions".
I normally prefer Fiction books, but this one was so engaging that I read this one quite fast!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brief_Answers_to_the_Big_Questions

And I have purchased another Fiction work: "The Murder of Roger Ackoryd". The Book is undergoing a few days of dry quarantine before I start using it!
I read that this is one of the best Agatha Christie works.

So what book(s)are you into?

I am now reading a "self help" book called 12 rules for life: An antidote to chaos from Jordan Peterson. It is good but not exactly what I thought to deal with my anxiety.

That's a great combination of books. Brief Answers to the Big Questions is a unique book that asks big questions about life and science in an easy-to-understand way. Although it's non-fiction, it can still appeal to you even if you prefer fiction. Stephen Hawking had a knack for explaining complex matters in simple language.

And now you've chosen The Murder of Roger Ackroyd — one of Agatha Christie's greatest works. The book has a unique storytelling style and a surprising twist that has captivated readers for years. When you finish the book quarantine, you'll be on a modern journey of detective and suspense.

Mate. That's a powerful throwback. Tom Sawyer is like the OG of childhood books. Rereading that story is like going back to an old neighborhood, a place where dreams, mischief, and the spirit of adventure were. There you play with the nostalgia of reality.

Mark Twain gave us a character who knew how to live without the rules of the world. And yet he taught us about freedom, loyalty, and creativity. When you finish, you'll feel like you've traveled without leaving home. Keep enjoying that childhood vibe, it's therapy for the soul.

I am a fiction writer so I read everything that I can lay my hand on. I was in a country until recently where government libraries have a large colection of books. The last I read The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald which is all about corruption, money. love and whatnot. I guess the protagonist even though a selfmade rich guy was hungry for more money so he did everything that such people do.

I'm currently reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding. It’s an older book, but I finally picked it up, and it’s been really gripping so far.

Thanks for sharing your inputs.
I presume that you have come back to this site after a gap.
I remember interacting with you earlier before 2019.
