CORONA-19 A SOLILOQUY

I seem to be getting a bad name. If you compare the deaths by accidents, earthquakes, tornadoes, typhoons and the like my contribution is a pittance

Death is inevitable and it comes due to multifarious reasons apart from what is stated above There are countless diseases many incurable . The patients linger for months on end putting caretakers into great inconvenience and expense. You know those who encounter me either fight with me and win the battle or just fade away in a matter of days - no one lingers.

. And by the way did you notice this.? I am not prejudiced. All are same for me – the rich and poor, educated and the illiterate, jobless and CEOs, celebrities, yes, everyone. I show no kindness to anyone

I have come with a message

If you do not want to mess with me there are ways. As long as I am there just follow the protocol subscribed. Wash your hands with soap and water frequently, sanitize your hands, disinfect your surroundings, do not spit all over the place, while coughing and sneezing cover your mouth and most importantly maintain social distancing
Whatever is shopped offline or online needs to be sanitized too. The surfaces need to be sanitized at regular intervals. What is wrong with that.? You were expected to do this even otherwise but now thanks to me you know how important it is to pay attention to these things. Is this not good advice? . You will have cleaner surroundings.

Get yourself examined if in doubt. You know about the lockdown what it has done to the economy. That is only temporary. That has given you all an opportunity to differentiate between your needs and wants. Wants have no limits. Once you know your needs you will manage your life very well.

You have an opportunity to reach out to the needy. Do what you can in whatever way you can. The joy you get helping others you will only experience it when you do it.

You have neglected nature and see what you have done to the environment. Get back to basics, take care of nature. Animals need your attention and love.

I am asking you to spend time with your family getting together and doing the household chores. Do not indulge in activities that keep you too much apart.

Rather than visiting gyms get into the habit of doing Yoga and meditation. It keeps your mind clean and peaceful.
There is an element of over indulgence in the world today and that has created unhealthy competition leading to unrest. A simple life is what you should go for.

I am watching you and if I see no improvement in your ways I will not leave. I am here to see that the world is rid of over indulgence and once that is achieved I will leave you in peace.

All what you need to do is to recollect and see where and how you can contribute to a world of peace. You can do it.

Very well written and if the virus could speak I think this is exactly what it would say. It reminds me of a piece that was written about Heroin, the way it takes every thing and destroys it. Food for thought.

Thanks. I feel there is a mystery in this disease - something spiritual.

This virus made us change our priorities and give value to what really matters in life. It is weird that a virus that is a threat to our lives has the power to make us rething about everything we have been doing to us, to others and to the environment.

Nice post. It is odd that a tiny organism can kill a huge organism like us. And it is more weird and preposterous to know that some people believe COVID-19 is a hoax.

Hmm. Yeah but I don't consider this pandemic a great thing because a lot of real human beings especially the frontliners died. It is a war against an invisible enemy and a war is never a good thing to me. Though, it kinda change people's perspectives in lives and consider washing hands as part of their habit to avoid getting a disease.

I am with you on this but an analysis will telll us why fronliners died. Could that not have been avoided? Many questions need to be asked. Lockdowns need to be followed to the 't' but that is not happening either Discipline is the order of the day is what Corona says we should.

I know that COVID-19 is an infectious disease and see no reason why scientists and medical practitioners can not approach it the same way they approached other diseases like malaria, ebola, etc. The stupidity of not taking a deadly disease seriously and making it its impact on politics and economics more of a priority than its destruction of human life, has gone way over my head. Maybe that's not happening where you live. But it's happening in America and in America there is such as thing legally called “wrongful death”. A wrongful death is a death that need not have happened were it not for _________. Whatever it was that needed to done to prevent the death is what goes in the blank space. IN AMERICA, many people have died wrongful deaths attributed to COVID-19. Believe me. It's not the virus that I don't like.

Dear Mr Corona,

I know you are Master of Disguise - but no longer. The molecule which you use to camouflage your RNA to mimic the host cell's RNA, which makes you seem like one of our own has been identified - nsp10. All we need to do is decipher the codes of this molecule to find all your strength and weaknesses, which will then help us design an anti-viral which will destroy your means of camouflage. Without your disguise, you will be a sitting duck for the soldiers of our immune system. So your time is coming up!

Yours faithfully

May be I am cruel but in my cruelty there were messages for you which some have understood. Protocl was the name of the game -a kind of discipline but it is only now that most in your country are following and that includes your President. I am told many celebtrities have changed their lifestyle for the better. Many are reaching out to the needy, many are now conscious that nature needs to be taken care, the list is endless. Many have realised they should have saved as when they became jobless they had something to fall back on. I will surely go but with the satisfaction that I would have tought the world how to get back to basics. Rather than be proud of creating a mobile with 4 cameras they will think of ways to make the world a peacefl place.

And last but not the least I have made many to put on their thinking caps to get rid of me.

I will happily go but not before making the world realise they need to change their priorities, get back to basics, love nature, love animals, reach out to the needy, and last but not the least live a disciplined life.

I don't think it is selective. Several of our politicians got it including the prime minister who ended up in intensive care and a member of the royal family. From what I hear Prince Charles is still suffering from fatigue.

We have been given time to mend our wayes but most seem to just wait to get back to their old ways once the pandemic disappears. Corona is in no hurry. It is here with a purpose.

The Spanish Flu outbreak in 1918 lasted 3 years. So Part of me accepted the fact that this might really be the new normal.

I was reading up on the 1918 Spanish flu outbreak and even back then they discovered that social distancing was the key to flattening the curve. We have come a long way with medicine and technology since then so hopefully the death rate won't be as high as it was then. It was estimated at 50 million worldwide with 675000 occurring in the US. Let's hope an effective vaccine with be found.

Much has been discussed on the subject comparing it with the present pandemic and in a way feeling consoled that this pandemic is not as acute as the Spanish Flu.

It is not easy to follow protocol day in and day out for months on end. People are bound to get fed up but sadly have to bear the consequences which are seen already
