Two Ways To Reduce Knee Pain

Postby Coolearner24 » 29 Oct 2019, 20:19

Pain in knee is one of the main problems people are facing nowadays. Lack of physical activity, exercise, and proper treatment are some of many reasons why more and more people are facing this dreadful and painful problem. Pain in the knee or your joints can be irritating. It causes you distress and pain can become unbearable a lot of times. Well conducted surveys have shown that almost 18 percent of men over the age of 60 have reported knee pain in their lives. In fact, overall 19 percent of overall population suffer from this problem.

Women are more likely to develop knee problems, as 23 percent of women over the age of 60 are suffering from this condition. Moreover, the problem of knee pain increases with age. However, the data was extracted from old sources, so this means that more people are suffering from knee problems in the present age. So what can you do to avoid or reduce pain in order to seek comfort or relieve? Well, in this article, we shall discuss some helpful methods you can use to get rid of your knee or joint pain that has been haunting you.

Use Warm Water Therapy To Reduce Pain

Warm water has many benefits. Moreover, it is particularly helpful when it comes to dealing with knee pain. According to a study that appeared in the Journal Rheumatology International, warm water can be very beneficial for reducing knee pain. The research suggests that soaking the knees into warm water for 20 minutes reduced pain of participants of the study.

All you need to do is heat the water and make sure the heat is bearable, then just use the warm water for the knee where pain is prevalent. I have personally tried this warm water therapy and it seems that it does reduce the pain in joints, indeed. There are various other benefits of warm water, too. It seems that this benefit is one of many!

Running May Be Good For Knees

We all know how beneficial exercise can be to us. In fact, there are tons of benefits of exercise we can discuss. However, NOT all exercises are good for our knees. There are certain exercises that can cause damage to your knees. However, there are other exercises that can actually be good for our knee and joint health and running is one of those healthy exercises you may benefit from. The study was provided by American College of Rheumatology that suggests that running does not cause knee problems; in fact, running actually reduces knee inflammation and help people overcome pain.

There are various other studies that suggest that running or brisk walking actually promotes knee health. However, you just need to run or walk properly in order to gain maximum benefits from exercise and not ruin your knee. Just run normally as you do and do not exert pressure on your knees.

Conclusion

More and more people are suffering from knee problems. However, there are many solutions to this problem. Apart from taking your regular medications and doctors' advice, you can try soaking your knee into warm water to relive pain if you cannot run at an old age. As far as young people are concerned, they certainly need to be physically active in order to avoid knee problems in the future and running can provide the benefit of preventing knee troubles in the future.

I don't know running is good for knee, I thought it would hurt the knee, thus I walk most of the time.

If you think that brisk walking is better, then opt for it. Running in an improper way can be harmful for knee. Do not exert too much pressure on your knees while running or walking. The article is mentioning running in a proper way that does not put too much pressure on the knees.

If you will run then run of soft base like grass. Don't run on concrete.

I never experienced any knee pain until long after retirement. My knee joints gradually became stiff and grating to the point I could hardly move without the added support of a cane or an arm to lean on.

The doctor visit along with x-rays revealed I had developed bone spurs in the joints, particularly centered in my knees. The doctor had no remedy other than knee replacement surgery that he could recommend other than pain medication. I don't want to "go under the knife" and personally don't trust the pharmaceutical industry, so I did some research to find some other way to deal with the issue.

I ran across a recommendation to use a small combination of cinnamon and honey as a topping on meals to relieve joint pain. I was in enough pain that I was willing to try anything so I gave it a try. About a teaspoon of each sprinkled over breakfast each morning was enough.

That combination completely dissolved the bone spurs within a couple of weeks and all my joints move easier since I started doing that. According to what I learned in research, this combination is among the oldest remedies of many ills known to man. It did indeed work for me. I can easily run up and down stairs with no need for a cane again.

Also stop eating red meat and organ meats because they are rich in Uric acid which are painful for the joints. I am not telling you to go Vegan. You can still have white meat.

My pain is in my shoulders and neck (same age problem) and I got some relief by taking daily Turmeric and Hemp Oil supplements, but long hot showers work for a while. I also have a heating pad on the back of my TV chair.

Flaxseed oil is also good for knees and general bone health. Brisk walking is also good for knees as they keep the joints lubricated. Other than that, we Indians also consume powdered dry dates in a cup of hot milk every morning to keep bones and joints healthy as dates contains a lot of calcium.

I have tried applying a hot water bag on my knees and this has really helped me a lot in relieving my pain especially in peak winters.

Ever since I found out running can damage your knees and joints, especially the older we get, I've decided not to do a lot of jogging. If I can drum up the enthusiasm to go for a jog, I tend to alternate between a 'soft jog' and power walking to balance it all out.

I see swimming as the best workout because no weight will torture your joints and its good for the heartbeat.

Since three years i am also suffering from acute knee pain , gouts, and recently developed rhemotoid . One Ayurveda Dr suggested to keep the leg in the tub and keep pouring bearable hot water on the knee , i tried but so long as i keep pouring the water i felt comfortable but once i stop again it pains. According to the doctor advice i am taking Jointace ND, and applying omnigel in the affected area. But not getting cured. Now winter started here and the pain is unbearable making me crippled and sitting ( knee bends) and standing ( knee stretches)is really a hell .

Obesity is also cause of knee pain. After age of 40 years we have chance of having knee pain. If at 40 years age we eat regularly fenugreek seeds, it will save us from knee pain. Fenugreek seeds having medicine properties and it will main lubrication between knee joints.

One key aspect from this article is found in this quote "The study was provided by American College of Rheumatology that suggests that running does not cause knee problems; in fact, running actually reduces knee inflammation and help people overcome pain."

Inflammation is the key word. Inflammation is the culprit behind many an ailment in the body. If you can get at the source of the inflammation or better yet prevent inflammation in the first place then you are well on your way to a healthier body and mind. Some say pineapples can help lessen inflammation. Perhaps it's the bromelain found in pineapples. Turmeric, healthy fats and other natural components found in food are helpful as well.

Proper mechanics while walking, working and exercising cannot be ignored. The human body is amazing.

Ever since I tripped and hit my knee first on the ground during a basketball game, my left knee would regurly tire out first during a game. It would feel sore and as if small needles are poking it. So after games I would use a hot compress and place it over my left knee.

It is sports injury and not a knee pain, it is cureable you also consult with doctor for it. Hot compress is good to get relief from all type of pains

I've read many articles written by doctors saying running is bad for the knees and joints and recommend walking instead. Thank God I have no knee issues, I hate jogging and LOVE walking
