I am currently investing into mutual funds. But for now playing it safe and going to see if that properly converts with the time. My goals are long term.

Mutual funds are a good way to increase your worth. Yet the key is to stay invested long enough, at least in a few good MFs. Do not invest too much. Sometimes, we can have negative return over a short period, but we need to be resilient and keep on moving.

Pros:
1. Because of increased diversification in vestment there are less risks.
2. We have profess0inal investment management to look after/ supervise these funds.
3. Through Mutual funds one can investment in big Companies which otherwise becomes impossible for a small investors.
4. There is transperancy and ease of comparison
5. These are regulated by Governmental bodies!

Cons:
1. They attract Fees.
2. The income from these are unpredictable
3. There are no options to customize them, we need to accept as they are presented!

Thanks!

Wonderfully summarized !

Mutual funds can never be classified as a HYIP. It is a pure investment.

I have not invested in mutual funds and the primary reason is it takes a lot of time to give returns. A better alternaive is interest bearig savings accounts.

I have (not me personally, it was my spouse) and lost a bit, so I am not going to get back into that. It's kind of risky and I am not willing to take that kind of risk now.

Any fixed income secured return policy is a long term affair. With similar timeframe mutual funds can provide a much higher return with a risk attached to it.

If we have extra money every month then its best to invest and Mutual fund is less risky so money can be invested in it.

If you need to choose between stock market and Mutual funds then you should go for Mutual funds.

As Warren Buffet said first save and invest then go for expenditure. That should be the approach when investing in mutual funds.

I do invest into mutual fund. I am currently focused on equity and the liquid funds. I may even invest into the funds if it is long term better for investment.
