Have You Ever Used Google Chrome for Crypto Mining?

Postby A K Rao » 06 Dec 2018, 17:15

I know many people are using Google chrome for mining crypto currency.

But I have come accross an article that now a days Google Chrome is not allowed to mine crypto currencies.

I am doubtful if the information provided there is genuine or not!

Are there any one here who are still using Google Chrome for mining Crypto coins?

I came to know this phenomena through advertisement clicks on my GPTC sites like neobux and timebucks. I have never ever thought to do that.
I have just searched google regarding the issue and found that it is true that google is not allowing crypto miners to use chrome.
you can check the news here-https://www.engadget.com/2018/04/02/google-chrome-web-store-bans-crypto-mining-extensions/

I am using Cryptotab browser and I was using Cash Mining. But, most of the forum's opinion on crypto mining its a no go. So, I have dropped Cash Mining and still have kept Cryptotab because they will let me cash out pretty much any amount.

--- 06 Dec 2018, 11:44 ---

OH but I forgot Cryptotab goes into a browser of its own. So, not sure if this effects anything. It's hard to explain its like Cryptobrowser opens its own looks like a chrome based browser. But, when you download Crypto tab it ask you to download their program.

No I haven't, I use eobot to mine. I also discovered very recently a new and amazing browser named Bravo, it is faster than Chrome or firefox. I do not advice people to mine with their own computers, first it will kill your machine sooner or later, second it is not profitable, even cloud mining is hard now a days.

Yes I have. I liked it but my laptop did not. It started acting all weird. Almost every time I try to mine, my laptop punishes me. If it weren't for that I would recommend using teh Chrome browser. I would recommend CryptoTab if you don't have a temperamental laptop like mine. My son gave me this laptop. It's second hand and it's the only piece of equipment I can use to make money. I can't afford to break it trying to make mine and make money.

But you might to double check. I read somewhere that Google was going to stop certain mining activity using the Chrome browser. I don't know much about it or if that was just rumor.

Tried it and not worth it. The browser cryptomining usually use CPU and to be profitable in mining you will need to have powerful GPU or graphics card. So, it's just not worth it.

I tried it and the rewards were dismal at best, but if you scroll up and read that article about Chrome removing such extensions from their web store it should convince any but the most desperate to stay away from any such software that is in any way a derivative of Chrome.

I never tried mining as it may slow down my processor. There is also a risk in terms of security and privacy point of view.

I don't like mining at all with my devices. It makes my device becomes very hot and might end up malfunctioning it so I rather not use it for any form of mining.

You are right. Besides, I've read many reviews that says it isn't worth trying. Hence I do not bother my pretty head.

There are some small sites and apps that promote mining through your browser. I have played with them in the past. Currently my security is set very high and it will not allow me to use those sites. There are better ways to earn.

I avoid using mining through browser. The reason being browser becomes unstable. And next reboot or after it can be pretty bad in many ways.

I have noticed the same thing. Now, cloud mining is interesting because its a platform that you don't have to have running in the background. At least the one I am in you just make sure you logged in and it keeps going and going. Log in once in a while to check on it and let it go and go. As far as CryptoTab and others that run in the background, unless you want to run your virus scanner every day, I wouldn't do it.

I think that cloud mining is more like investment and not mining. It's more like HYIP for cryptos. I have tried mining in a chrome browser before but again, it depends on your CPU power and graphics card if they have that option as well.
