I'm a loyal Tumblr user, so no surprise I left several comments. But just in case others are not convinced about the value of this blogging/microblogging/social media platform, below is a summary of hopefully helpful TIPS that might persuade you to give it a try. Keep in mind that Tumblr is just like any other social network. If you want to get the most from it, you have to work at it!
TIP 1: Tumblr's 'Reblog' is better than a Twitter Retweet; or equally as good.
Explained my reasoning or rationale in these comments posted here:

My logic is flawless. It's pointless for you to argue with me. LOL.
TIP 2: Tumblr allows you to use affiliate links in 3 ways.
1) Include them in your content as contextual links.
2) Place the banners or text links on your blog like ads.
3) Create a redirect page using your affiliate link that leads visitor directly to the site to buy the affiliate product. NOTE: Be careful because certain affiliate links are not allowed such as Clickbank and Commission Junction.
TIP 3: I used this feature when I had a Wordpress blog; but I don't have one any more. Nevertheless, I still see people on Tumblr using this feature. I found a link in the Help Section of Wordpress that explains how it works.

When you use the social sharing feature, the link from your Worpress blog comes through with a blurb of info and also tags. When I used it, it did not require any extra work at all. The posting was automatic or automated. If you want to see how your cross-post comes through, I found a Tumblr blogger who uses the interface tool.

TIP 4: If you're trying to get more followers and also likes and reblogs, you could try joining a Facebook group. I found a closed group on Facebook where members help each other by following, liking and reblogging. It's called High Tea Network. There may be other groups but I only know of this one. The group is comprised of a bunch of youngsters (between ages 18 to 30). When I first joined I felt out of place but the group moderator was very nice to me and made m feel welcome there.
TIP 5: You can maximize your social media sharing by recycling or resharing posts from one social media account to Tumblr or vice versa. You can use Tumblr for blogging (same way you use Wordpress, Blogspot, etc.); and/or for microblogging. (FYI: “Microblogging” is just another word for quick and easy social media sharing. Twitter is called a microblogging application. Tumblr is also a microblogging application.) I prefer to use Tumblr as a microblog. It's like a Twitter on steroids. You can create one Tumblr account with a primary blog and then create several secondary blogs all linked to the same account. OR … You can create separate Tumblr accounts for each blog. Whereas I don't mind managing multiple Twitter accounts, I think maintaining multiple Tumblr blogs is just too much work. I prefer to sign in once and access all of my blogs in the same dashboard. But some people like to keep things separated. It's your thing. Do you what you wanna do!
1) When you create a Tumblr, you can link it to your Twitter and your Facebook profile or page. When you publish a post to Tumblr, it will also publish to your Twitter and/or Facebook accounts. If you don't want to post simultaneously, you can always post at a later time manually.
2) Everybody knows manually posting to social media would consume so much of your time you won't have time for anything else. Use a tool like IFTTT to help you share or reshare your Tumblr posts to your Pinterest pinboards. You can use IFTTT to share your Instagram posts to your Tumblr. Just sign up for IFTTT. It's free. Then start using the "recipes". That's what they call them. It's a recipe to connect or map social media accounts to each other.
By the way there are lots of tools out there you can use to help you with your social media posting. IFTTT is just one of them and I use it because it's super easy.

WHY would you want to cross-post and/or reshare between social media accounts? Because there is something called “social signals” and nowadays since establishing a presence on social media is key to your online business success you want to show up as many places as possible. I am not tech savvy or geeky enough to explain this, so I'm sharing an educational link instead.
