That is, I'm not sure one prayer is separate from the next. One day, you release a group of words into the air (and we all suppose they 'rise up to Our Heavenly Father (we'll call him
Abba)' like Lord Jesus was said to do); the next day, you release a similar grouping of words into the air, and they float up into the clouds like before.
Who's to say that 'the next group of words' doesn't float up to- & mingle with-'the previous group of words' or -'your neighbor's puff-of-words'---indistinguishable from one another (now that they're no-longer "in your heart," but rather are floating free), paying no regard to 'what Deity you pray-to' or 'who approves of your prayer' or 'the true intention in your heart'?
This is one reason
we're told not to 'pray our problems.' You pray, "Oh
Abba, I've got all these problems!" and--before you go on to say--"and I know you'll help me solve them or get rid of them or manage them"--
Abba goes "
Problems? Okay!" and 'rains them down upon you.'
Rather than 'pray our problems,' we are to pray
Abba's promises (as
Tidbits from Heaven (the linked blog) reminds us of 'what the hymn reminds us we're "standing on"').
'Those promises' are words that "produce a sweet savor" as we lift them back to
Abba ... as opposed to 'the words that produce a foul
odor'---maybe that's why the original word for 'Hell' was the name of the Jews'
garbage-dump (where the refuse was burning the foul stench into the air).
