If you are a Forum Owner, Is paying money for the services of Postloop and Forumwheel worth it?

Postby Netherrealmer » 14 Jul 2018, 11:49

I almost considered it but after seeing how disinterested paid members are and how they gather at the off topic area I decided not to. Working for those 2 sites is a good source of money as long as it is a Good season where lots of Forums are available but if you are the forum owner?

It doesn't seem worth it to Pay people to post on your forums. Especially if all those people think about is making money.

The Job of the paid members is to seduce the casuals who will find the website to register. I never seen a successful forum after the owner stop subscribing. The Members who are paid don't really attract casuals and they quit the moment you stop paying.

A forum owner earn money from ads if it has a lot of casual members. Members who register because they like the forums. I think I will only use these services is if I have a casual population. I think with pre-existing discussions, The paid members will have idea on how to use the forum.

Perhaps in the beginning when a person is trying to build their community or forum it is worth it. But as you can see, Forum Coin and Beer Money Forum are not using Postloop.

If I have to built my site with serious posts by members who are experienced for writing quality posts, this is worth. But if site is built and/or I can run it, I'll not go with em.

It would depend on the status of a forum. Any new forum would need a helping hand and I this The Forum Wheel and The Postloop provide it well. Later when people know about the forum, it can survive on its own but only if it is capable of generating revenue from ads.

No one is renewing anymore so I realize it is not worth it. I will just make a reddit subreddit instead. It is cheaper and it gets members faster since they won't need to register.

Is the off topic area is a paying section in Postloop? If it is, then, the solution is simple, demonetize that section and for sure they have moderation as well on other forums.

Not every forum owner are good at coding. The Final Fantasy forum owner forbids people posting on offtopic but she is not able to demonetize it so people got milked a lot of points from her forums doing that violation. When she had a moderator things got better since the moderator warns members but the members disrespected the moderator and even questioned his authority.

Some paid members don't have manners. They care more about what they can milk than inspiring the owner to renew.

We can always expect different kinds of people online and it is even worst on those bashers on Twitter or Facebook. If the admin of the forum is not knowledgeable in coding perhaps her forum members will help her if ask for it.

I think the only forums that became successful post Forumwheel and post postloop are beermoney related forums. I heard paid people form upwork and fiverr provides better quality.

I am of the opinion that if the forums that are subscribing to post loop or forumwheel cos stay independent and manage their own forums, there will be effective management of quality and contents.

No really.... Beer money themed forums survived because the paid members who stayed are only interested on earning online. Also it is hard to get quality content if your forum's theme is not earning online because you won't get passionate posts. Paid members failed to attract the casuals.

I believe it worth it for startup sites at least get some people to start posting and get the site off the ground. For off topic section I think if one don't need that then he or she should include that in the rules for would-be posters.
