Re: Laptop versus desktop

For whatever reason I still seem to manage to get a lot more done if I am sitting at a desktop, so I am at least glad that I still have access to one. That might not last too much longer though.

I prefer laptop or netbook because I can able to bring it out of the house. I can just put it in a bag and with a wifi connection I can use to still work online. I cannot bring out a desktop. I never had a desktop personally. I only have it in the office. Even at the office, I still prefer to have laptop to bring it somewhere.

I prefer to use a laptop because I can bring it anywhere. Before I used to love using the desktop I even upgraded the hardware every year just to make my systems faster but the desktop is prone to malfunction. That's why I gave up using the desktop so I switch to a laptop it turned out that laptop has a longer life than the desktop. Well, it's about my personal experiences.

Laptop's mobility is fantastic as @aecel mentioned, but for simple computing and big hardware duties, a desktop any day of the week! :D

Dependent on the lifestyle, a desktop is preferable for hardcore use. Laptops are good for less taxing usage. Main thing is the heating issues for laptop and unable to upgrade or customize much.

I would probably prefer the laptop since I can used it anywhere I want. It is very convenient to have especially if I am travelling.

We never had desktop in our house. Our first computer is a laptop. I like them small and portable. I don't like the bulky desktop but if I want to start a computer shop business desktop will be my choice

I definitely prefer desktop computers. My main issue with laptops has always been the inability to upgrade. If you spend several thousand on a high spec laptop it will need replacing in a few years, but if you spent the same on a desktop you would get a far better machine which you could carry out small upgrades on every 12 months to keep it at top spec.

There's gaming laptop but the cost is very expensive compared if you will have desktop gaming rig. I also prefer desktop for gaming while laptop for browsing.
