That's the thing, some doors get closed and when that happens we should not get discouraged as many times that also means the opportunity for new things!

I was just suggesting that if situations could get back to normal there is no harm in trying. And you are right. So many sites close down but new ones show up.

* * What is very encouraging is when the moderators feature some of your content at the site and also tweet your content. It shows they mean to support you. What I have a problem with is that they don't respond to eMails. Fortunately, it wasn't a major problem. Just some people sending me spam messages. The community members are also very nice and I am connecting with brand new people who are not in the other communities. At many of the other communities I see the same people. Niume has people I've met but also people I've never met. I like that!

So now that you've been there for a few months are you still of the opinion that it's worth your time and effort?

*** Never mind. Excuse the question above. I found another post by you. I'm not tired of Niume just yet.

* * I haven't given up on the site. Most of my content is republished from my blogs or other places where I published. So even if the site goes down, it's not like I'd lose anything.

The main goal of the site was to allow republished content so that bloggers and writers might be able to redirect traffic to their own sites. When I read other people's content and they provide a link back to their site, sometimes I click to visit the site. But I wonder how many other people do that? Because if the visitors don't get a little curious about the blogger's site, then not only is the site not paying, but it's also not really achieving its primary goal of helping the bloggers reach a larger audience. That's really why the site was set up. It was sort of like YAHOO Voices. But YAHOO Voices didn't last either.

So when Niume announced their discontinuation of the revenue system, at least they didn't bite da dust! YAHOO Voices said "Sayonara!" and closed its doors. It was a disappointment, because YAHOO actually paid me.

I wasn't earning at Niume. But I was hoping to get some traffic to my websites and blogs by republishing there. Because Niume doesn't have my ads and affiliate links that can earn income for me. But my sites do! So I really want to get people over there! You know what I mean??

I was not aware that we could reproduce content. I do not remember reading it. Anyway writing anywhere for me is an exercise to produce new content. Were you linking your content to your blogs for traffic to reach there?

* * Yes. Only a few pieces at Niume are my original content only published at Niume. The rest are republished content and usually at the end of the post you write a statement like: "This content first appeared at *My Blog" (include the title and link to the specific post)." I have only 16 posts at Niume. I started in January at the beginning of this year (2017). I'm taking my time deciding: Should I stay or should I go? I wasn't in a hurry to join. I'm not in a hurry to leave. The site might have "a value" that just hasn't made itself immediately visible and it's not in the form of a "Pay Per View" plan.

* * As soon as I found out about it, I wrote a blog post at my blog and tried to get the word out. I also republish content via Medium. Have you ever tried this site? It is respected by the search engines and is a good site to use for research. The writing community are professionals (and amateurs like me); some are like consultants in various fields like technology, healthcare, etc. Opinion pieces are accepted. Etc.

I've never tried republishing content that is still on my blogs because I'm worried that it will be a violation of AdSense policy. Do you have AdSense on the content that you've republished on third party sites?

No I do not. The Ad Sense is at my own blogs that I am hoping to redirect the traffic to.

At most sites (where I have had experience) that allowed me to republish content, they never allowed me to use affiliate links or Ad Sense. But I could supply to the original source link (i.e. my blog post or article).

I think I worded that badly. I meant to ask whether you republish content that appears on a blog which has AdSense active. I'm worried that republishing content that appears on my blog will be a violation of AdSense policy.

* * There are a lot of reputable sites that present republished content. Niume is small beans compared to those sites. I'm pretty sure both the writer and the site publishing their content can both display ads via Ad Sense. Niume shows Ad Sense ads. My blog shows Ad Sense ads.

I think this will answer your concerns.

Thanks. That looks encouraging but I think I'll do a bit more reading on Google support's site before I do anything I may regret.

* * Agree. Analyze the info. Make your own decision. I feel confident in what I'm doing. But you have to reach your own confidence level.

* * I remember when somebody came to another site where I was a member to recruit me for tinycent. I took one look at the site and left! I just didn't like it. But I was still shocked when I heard people saying it had shut down. I was like: "That quick!!" It was fast! Wasn't it? I just figured it was my personal preference that I did not like the site for me. But I did not predict the site would shut down in such a hurry!
