Have you used Instagram to promote your work or site?

Postby kaka135 » 10 Jan 2017, 07:42

I have been hearing about using Instagram to promote business lately, but I haven't really go into it yet. I used to think Instagram is for sharing photos only, but it seems like it's not.

Have you tried to use Instagram to promote your business? Even perhaps Niume posts?

I don't have any business to promote now, so I am thinking if it's a good way to promote Niume posts or if it's allowed.

I just found this free course about Instagram, just thought of sharing it here too: 5 Days to Doubling Your Instagram Engagement

No. I haven't quite looked into Instagram from this point of view.

On Niume, during sharing posts option, we need to check if Instagram logo is available as an option.

Instagram can be used to promote business. But those posts must not look like a promotion. because if it done then that would not help your case. And people will ignore you. Creative business thrive on instagram.

Try posting hair oil or some weight loss it won't work.

Try posting crochet, craft, sketching, painting on insta. It will sell. Spirituality, coaching, sself help, guide and stuff sells too.

It depends on type of business that can benefit there.

I don't remember Instagram is on the list, but I am not sure if we are allowed to share niume posts on Instagram. If it's allowed, then we can still share it manually.

I haven't really check out posts on Instagram yet, but so far I am just following a few craft making bloggers and bullet journal bloggers.

It is a visual platform. Videos and images are supposed to be posted there. Not much use for the articles. And there is no way to post link only.

I tried it before, it was Blogjob that I was promoting but the link is not clickable. For sure people will not try to click the link because most of them are into taking their account's safety. I also tried to post one Niume post, still the link is not clickable. I will just put my Niume profile link on my profile so that they will just click. That is the one that is clickable. I used Tumblr instead.

I don't have an instagram account so I would not know about this. I use my twitter page or my own blog for getting my word out. also a G + account. :D

I haven't tried to use Instagram to promote anything. However, I did try to set up an account last week so as to use Instagram to promote my blog by posting some of the photos in our gallery. But I got bored and gave up because the system just wouldn't let me! For instance, It kept throwing stupid reasons at me such as username already in use. Yet when I tried to reset my password, it didn't recognise the username. No big loss for me, I'll explore other platforms LOL

There is no way from social media to post on instagram. The reason being instagram requires images, not links and post. so that never works.

Yes you are right. I said from above that I posted my links of Blogjob and that one is clickable, I was wrong. I checked it again and it is not clickable. There are no way to use the links to redirect some readers to the exact site.

@sis grecy0905....can I just ask, was it easy to open your Instagram account? Did you then find it easy to log in after you created your account? I tried to set mine up, but for some reason, it just won't work, and apparently I'm not the only one. I don't even know what I'm doing wrong :?

I don't really like Instagram. Of course, I said that of Twitter also. Lol. I have an Instagram account but don't use it. I randomly get people following me though. Not sure why or how since I hardly have any photos on there. I just don't like the set up there. I have never tried using it for promoting blog or anything. I have been seeing pins on Pinterest that talk about using it and how to use it for that purpose.

Hmmm. This was a great post. Very informative. I hadn't even thought of using instagram to drive traffic to or promote online money making. I could set up a fake instagram, but with no followers or past posting it would look suspicious. Like I was trying to sell something.

Yes, I just tried that lately and found the link is not clickable. So I wonder how people are using Instagram to promote their business, except that they invite others to click on the link on the profile.

I am using Tumblr too, but haven't really explore much yet. :)

That's exactly what I thought, and i've been planning on sharing the photos on my website on there to try and promote it and hopefully build our traffic. Does anyone know if they allow videos too?

I encountered the same problem too. I thought it just happened someone is also using the username I have always been using, so I chose another username instead. It's weird....
