As far as I know God has created the first man and woman and put them on this earth to take care of all His creation. And one of the commandments God has given them is "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth" under God's will to give everyone the spiritual happiness and to earn the highest exaltation in life and enjoy the eternal life.
On their course of living, the man and the woman in spite of their sins they have committed before the eyes of God, have been given the grace for their sins to be forgiven and it was done by God's Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ by offering His life for those sinners. In so doing, the sinners would have the big opportunity to improve themselves and forsake all their sinful ways and be forgiven, and be entitled for the gift of eternal life.
Personally, I may relate this man's search for happiness in the guise of the greatest virtue which God Himself has exemplified for the salvation of His people. And that is the so-called LOVE.

Love in Search for HappinessThere are four practical processes to completely attain the happiness in one's life and they are illustrated an acrostic of LOVE. L stands for finding anything that is good report, anything that relieves anyone from burden, woes and worries. Anything that makes man happy in the Lord's way. This could be achieved. I repeat in LORD'S WAY. The scriptures are complete for the ways to attain this first process.
The second is O which stand for obedience. No award or recognition be given, if someone doesn' deserve it. It is his workings. It is what he has worked for it through his diligence, industry, endurance, and hard work in an honest way. Obedience makes one cautious and dutiful to whatever has been commanded for him to do for a "reward". For being obedient to God's commandments, everyone would received the eternal life.
The third process is veneration or we call it in the spiritual point of you as reverence. It is a deep respect for God's creations. Everything what God has put in this earth would be taken care of, would be protected, would be preserved so that in return it would give the maximum benefits to all those living on this earth. Practically, it is just taking care of our natural resources, taking care of family and community, taking care of our government, and everything in the inspiration of the Lord.
And the last is applying all these things without reservation, without condition or second thoughts and this process is to endure to the end. It simply means to complete and finish what has been required in order to receive the complete happiness, even the eternal happiness which the eternal life is to give.
We couldn't forget these LOVE processes to give the final answer to our search for happiness. To follow these is not easy. It is hard. It is difficult for we are not perfect, for we have some reservation or priorities in life. We are full of challenges, trials in any form. But it is possible. Working together is possible and trusting God is easy if you have faith in Him. Thus, in God, nothing is impossible.
