We had a training, first they only look for people who are inclined with medical field, nursing, medical technology and the like. I am not a nursing graduate nor medtech, but they able to allow me to train because of having the skill of fast typing. It is hard because you need to memorize medical terms, you need to know how to use the device so that while doing the transcription, you can rewind the recorder. They have their own terms there, the thing that you will step your one foot and it will rewind the recorder something like that. You need to also be aware of your grammar.
Mostly the recorded comes from a doctor, it is a voice recorded of doctors about a patients medical situation or procedure, something like that. You better be careful with it because one mistake can danger the lives of a patient. I worked there 6 months after 2 months training, I gave up, it was really challenging for me and I know I got scared, i was just 21 during that time.

We were trained rigorously in medical and pharmacological terminology for 6 weeks and only after we passed a written test, were we inducted in the company. You don't have to have a special certificate to do this job but you need to have good hearing, typing skills, good knowledge of English and familiarity with medical terms. I did not do any home transcription jobs as it is quite tedious since a very calm and quiet atmosphere needed for doing work may be hard to find at home. But the pay is good if you stick to it and can manage your work for a few hours consistently on a daily basis.

One thing, the pay is good. It is a very hard, challenging job, but the pay is good. I worked as a part time job but my part time job earning is the same as my full time job. I tried this week for 6 months, I stayed in the company for 8 months in total but it was very challenging, however, my co-worker said we will be learning a lot and we can get used to be working on it and that is what I did not consider before, my bad.

Yes, the pay is really good if you stick to it. But the job is very demanding to, for example, you need very high levels of concentration and you have to have a very acute hearing. Many doctors have really bad accents and are in so much hurry to complete their dictation that they use really horrible phrases that are extremely hard to decipher. With such files, you can get heavy headaches. That is why I too gave up after two years, could not cope with the stress.

It is refreshing to hear that you chose to quit based on ethical considerations.
You may not know it; but you are a priceless gem.
The world does not have many people like you.
Kudos!
