It's a good story. :) But I really don't like the way the narrator says that people should ignore their aching muscles in defiance. Your brain is not telling your muscles to wake up. Your brain is telling you that you're working muscles too hard. At the end of the day, it's your body that keeps you going. People should really pay more attention to it. (Especially in sports).

I didn't want to be the technical guy. :P But this seemed rather hard to ignore.

That's a great point Rick, I agree. Some people push themselves too far when training and can actually damage their bodies, this is particularly common when someone starts out on a sport, e.g. a non-runner who decides they want to train for a marathon.

ksridharprasad no one knows "all these motivation videos". Did you watch the video in my post? If so what's your opinion of it?

I'm glad you agree. I didn't know what the reaction would be.

Sometimes, I think of it this way. Physical activity (running, etc) should be done to improve your health. If you do damage, that defeats the real purpose.

Very true Rick. For myself, I sometimes find it difficult to get the balance right. When I feel tired and don't want to exercise, I often don't know if it is my body telling me I need to rest & recover or if it is just me being lazy and not pushing myself hard enough. There is a thin line, between not pushing yourself enough and pushing yourself too hard.

I agree. The balance is usually hard to get over. But it helps to keep a good diet with good nutrition. And a rule of thumb I've used is that if I get aching pains lasting for a week or more (without improving), then that isn't normal.
