I think The Rock is done with wrestling because he recently underwent a massive weight loss. His reason for losing weight is that he wants to be taken more seriously as an actor. As long as he stays extremely muscular and bulky, he will be limited to action movie roles. By slimming down, he can pursue drama and non-action films, giving him more versatility. Perhaps he was inspired—or even a little jealous—because Batista has recently been landing roles in horror and drama movies after his own weight loss. I think he is trying to leave action movies because those action roles are now being offered to John Cena instead of him. So he wants a new direction on his career. Also, he's not managed by Danni Garcia anymore. The Rock was very successful back then because he is managed by his ex-wife, Danny Garcia. And Danni Garcia is such a good manager. She's able to make many actors successful, but yeah, he doesn't work with her anymore. I think he's self-managing now, and he struggled without Danni Garcia.
