I think they're supposed to be forest monsters from what I remember, inspired by nordic folklore. A lot of people like them, I don't really think they're that cute personally but I can see why they would be appealing to others. Collectables have been popular since forever. Apparently there are mini versions coming out soon, I would probably find them a lot cuter.

The thing is most of them don't even have an idea of what these dolls are, all they know is that it's trending so they buy it.

Collectibles always find their audience, whether it's for the trend or the story.

I saw fake ones being sold at a cheap store nearby, I was sort of tempted to buy one to see which colour I would get. I understand the blind box temptation... It's really exciting haha. Of course, the fake ones are like five dollars and the real ones are nearly 40. I feel a lot less tempted to buy the real ones.

@ragdollie
If you're just curious about the experience and not planning to collect seriously, the cheaper ones should be fine for that.

UNBELIEVABLE!
Thank goodness I haven't heard any reports about stampedes. Some people get killed when there's a crowd that shows up to buy a popular item.

South Park can make fun of anything and everything. The writers for that show have a wild imagination.
