Caffiene is a drug too. But I guess you just mean illegal ones? Although in lots of places marijuana is legal now. But regardless, you are free to make your own choices and say 'no' to it.
Honestly nothing works as well as OTC pain relievers like paracetamol and ibuprofen. However, depending on the type of pain there are things you could try. For muscle pains you could try a warm bath, and maybe add epsom salts to the water. If you have a strain or sprain there is the R.I.C.E method (rest, ice, compression, elevation). If you're feeling stiff some gentle stretches can help.
For tooth pain you could try clove oil.

That's fair enough.
Why are you opposed to using ibuprofen though?

Good question. My whole life, I never liked OTC medicine. I do rely on cranberry tablets and Pepto-Bismal. When I was younger, I would take Midol and aspirin for my period.
Don't get myself wrong though. I have taken ibuprofen before and do not want to rely on the stuff. Make sense?
