Clayface is about an actor who used to be dashingly handsome, but he suffers an accident that destroys his face. Later, someone invents a beauty cream that restores his face to normal. Whenever he applies the cream, he becomes handsome again.
What the beauty cream can do, if you apply it to wrinkles, your skin will be smooth again. And if you apply it to scars, the scars will disappear. But after a few hours, your face will go back to normal. That's why he will become dependent to this cream. But the problem is, many people around the world have beauty problems. So this cream will be sold out in every drugstore. Even if he is an actor, he cannot buy a bottle because it's always sold out. And because he cannot have cream, he will become desperate.
He becomes so addicted to the cream that he starts stealing bottles from the factory because it’s sold out in many drugstores. He cannot stand his skin returning to normal; the cream is the only thing that makes him look like his old self.
Eventually, the factory’s security guards catch him, beat him up, and pour toxic waste from the factory onto him, leaving him for dead. However, the chemicals from the beauty cream factory transform him into a clay-like monster with the ability to shapeshift. He then seeks revenge on those who wronged him, killing them one by one.
I think this is a screenshot of him after the accident destroyed his face.

This may sound weird, but when I watched Batman cartoons as a kid, there was an episode where Clayface met a scientist who can bring him back to normal, but the scientist told him he needs to steal certain things so he can go back to normal. So he did what the scientist said, and when he's about to become normal, freaking Batman interrupts. This is the first episode of Batman where I became angry to Batman because all he wanted is to be human again, instead of this mud monster.
