Postby kat82 » 02 Aug 2025, 08:49

RAM is key to smooth performance of different computers. How much can you consider as enough for better performance?

I think it depends on the kind of games you play. The RAM needed for mid range games or regular games is different from what is needed for AAA games.

Ram should be above the minimum spec of the game

Yes that's true, so the best is just to check the game itself. It's best to use triple A games like GTA, god of war and so on to get your RAM.

Does it mean that I have to keep changing the RAM on every new game if for example the game is newer and requires more RAM?

I don't think this, if you have enough RAM to easily handle triple A games like GTA, god of war and the likes you won't have issues with most games out there.

I might be wrong but i doubt there is anything like enough RAM when it comes to gaming as over the years higher end games keep coming, so the RAM that you have now that handles most games, in the next few years it might not be enough to handle some of the games that comes out by then. As for 1GB RAM, I don't think that can handle any modern game.

There is nothing like that it's depends on the game and the version that is been installed, this is not an issue you ask people that is around you who has this , they can be in better position to help or walk to those games sellers or nearby computer shop to find out about this

Do all games explicitly specify the minimum RAM required to play?

Yes most games usually specify what you need to be able to play them.

Most games these days have a minimum spec of 5GB RAM. That's why I told you that it has to be above. So your gameplay will not be laggy.

Great. Then it means one needs a high end machine that can allow up to 10GB RAM and likely 100GB++ storage.

If you plan to stream your gameplay, run background apps, or use other software while gaming, more RAM can improve performance. In such cases, 16 GB is often considered the minimum.

If your ram is not enough and you are too poor to upgrade, play the game with lower graphics setting but it wont look as pretty
