Why do users leave writing sites that pay?

Postby bestwriter » 05 Aug 2025, 02:21

Reading the sentence 'Writing Sites that pay" some will interpret it as earning money There is so much more than just earning money at these Sites.

We get to interect with the world at large, we learn and share

I remember when I was looking for a penfriend way back when I was in school I hardly got any but now I have them by the hundreds

A user's personal experience shared at Sites has more value than getting that information browsing

If users thought of this most Sites would still be alive but sadly most look for earning money and when that is not there they just leave.

Have you left any Sites?

Sometimes you don't get responses on topics you want, not yours than in general. Most often users don't get enough money from site so they go away.

It is kind of a vicious circle in that less users means less scope for the Site itself to make money as Ads show up when many users take part

If I join a site which an intention of earning and it fails me up, I will quit. If however they stay by promise, that means real interaction and the end is making friends. BTW, do you have any friends on this very FC?

Various colleagues of mine in the PTWs leave 'cause a tiresome offline job (their main source of income), a family issue (like the sickness of a family member, as a colleague of mine whose baby needed a surgery in a far from area) or any else cumbersome responsibility.

It's quite natural. Sites and forums earn money with our content by showing advertisements. What is wrong with expecting rewards for our content when they announce it? I don't understand your thinking/logic in this.

People who use paid to write sites have one goal in mind -- to make money. As soon as that writing site stops paying OR as soon as there's another competitor site paying MORE, people will leave. It does not matter how good the community is or how user-friendly the site is. When it's no longer profitable, people will move on.

That's why sites need users who are geniunely interested in contributing (without being paid). If a site can't get those users, then it will not survive.

There is more to forums than just money You make friends, your learn and you share When the off line world is not available for interaction you have that at forums which is necessary

More users generate more money both for the Site and users And this is not observed by users. I fully agree with you

The major reasons a writer would leave a site that pays is simply because they no longer make money from the site.

The money that one earns on writing Sites these days is not much I think users continue because of the opportunity they get to interact with users and spend some interesting time.
