Don't step on a bee....

Postby arunima » 10 Jul 2025, 02:16

Well, we know how important bees are for human survival. And it is said that human beings would also face the danger of being extinct if bees are extinct. We won't be able to survive more than a century without them. Anyways, today, July 10th is Don't step on bees day...that's an interesting name. What does it actually signify?
It is also Harry Potter release day. The first book in the series was released on this day...that what Google says.
Anything more special and interesting about July 10?

Yes, Don't step on bee is a reminder about the importance of bees in ecosystem and for human existence. July 10 is also celebrated as Global energy independence day. It's a reminder to government and organizations on how we should reduce our dependency on non renewable energy sources and go for cleaner renewable sources.

Question. Bees like flowers and grass. In bar with terace full of flowers, why bees come on artifical sugar and coffee instead flying o flowers?

Weird to have a day for that. Apart from not wanting to kill bees (because they're important to the environment, and also because they're living creatures and there is no need) you might get stung if you step on one.

Sounds like a good initiative.
However, how good would these initiatives be would depend upon a lot of things that nations do with regards to climate change.
How much would they collaborate would make a big difference.

Yes, coming to accept Climate change as a harsh reality and take steps to control it is very important. Just designaying such days for certain causes is not good enough.

Right. Raising awareness through special days is a start, but real change needs action, like reducing emissions, protecting nature, and changing how we live and consume.

Sometimes I find a bit of hypocrisy there. They do something for bringing the awareness or raise funds for a particular cause, but the way they carry out can be questionable and even beats the real cause. I have seen events for Environment Day where they end creating so much of waste and don't have a proper waste disposal system in place. In such cases, unfortunately, it just boils down to mere tokenism and nothing concrete happening in action.
