Elon use to be a democrat but when Biden wants to support a bill that will tax 70% of his wealth, and his son comes out as transgirl... He hated democrats and converts to become a republican and helped Trump to win. Then him and Trump became enemies when Trump pass the Big beautiful bill. Now Elon will use his money and influence to make America Party. A party that is not republican or democrat. he will start with scratch. I don't know but if want he could have funded the Libertarian party or the Forward Party because they are on ballots. Starting a new party means his candidates wont be in ballots nation wide unless he will buy his way.

No. It's only a two party system because that's all that's voted in by the American people.

The US constitution doesn't state about biparty system. They can have more parties as per the constitution . And they had it in the past too. I was seeing a report by Palki Sharma about the same. It seems like it has happened a few times in their history but nothing in recent past. And surprisingly, these third parties did leave some impact in reforms though they could not sustain for long. It was surprising to know that the social security system that is so praised about in the US was actually brought up by one third party. I don't remember the name. I will have to check.

he didnt go for libertarian party which is the safest bet if he dont want to be republican and democrat. Instead he made America party

There are few third parties already existing there like Libertarian, Green party, Natural law etc. Elon instead I'd joining any of these launched his own party.
Anyways, no candidates from these third parties have ever won presidential candidacy. But they have split votes in earlier elections.

One needs a very level headed person to be in a significant powerful position that needs so many decisions to be taken impacting lives. Trump and Musk both seem very impulsive. They don't look very reliable. Let's hope some sanity prevails there.
