Important Note : As an experiment, I have trialed Claude.AI to generate the article content and then
published with suitable modifications here.
With the advent of climate change and global warming, often agriculture and in lands that are mainly rain fed
and not much served by irrigation facilities suffer.
To alleviate this, Governments in many places now think of Cloud Seeding to generate artificial rain.
In a similar initiative, cloud seeding has been planned in Indian capital Delhi in July.
The Delhi government has approved five cloud seeding trials with a budget of ₹3.21 crore, allocating ₹2.75 crore specifically for conducting the trials. Each trial will involve aircraft operations lasting one to one-and-a-half hours, with IIT Kanpur leading the technical implementation.
The cloud seeding process involves injecting rain-inducing chemicals like silver iodide into suitable cloud formations, encouraging precipitation that could potentially wash away airborne pollutants. The scientific approach to weather modification aims to provide good rains for agriculture and also to counter environmental
pollution.
While some environmentalists have raised concerns, scientific evaluations would be made to ascertain the results of this experiment and submit reports to validate the experiment.
