These overprized scented dolls are popular to Gen Z right now they spend hundreds and thousands of dollars for these suppose to be cute scented dolls. No they are not Rabbits, they are suppose to be demons. This was a queue of people who tried to buy these over priced demon dolls last Christmas.

They are kinda ugly, they remind me of Selina Gomez' boyfriend

Huh. Fads are weird. It's like the Tickle Me Elmo madness from the 90s.

I'd never heard of these dolls. I think they're kind of cool looking, but I wouldn't pay hundreds of dollars for them.

Edit: I just looked on eBay and you can buy these things for about $15. I guess it's just rare ones that are expensive?

naked ones are cheap, the ones with costumes and are scented are expensive. some people resell them though for 3000 dollars because they are sold out on stores or they dont want to take a queue

I'm not sure if labubu dolls are still popular in our country. They made quite a splash last year, and I noticed that many people were spending a lot of money on them. However, I'm not one to spend thousands of pesos on a labubu doll. I prefer to save my money instead. Hehe

It seemed like Labubu became mainstream because of K-Pop fans, because a lot of K-Pop stars are collecting Labubu for some unknown reason.

These monsters are now popular and mainstream in America

I heard it's because a Blackpink member had one, and then it blew up. I'm not into them, but I went to Japan recently and some of my friends requested me to bring some back. I brought back 5... they were about $12USD each from Pop-Mart (official shop). No line to buy them and no limit, but the shop only puts out 3-4 every time and only puts out more once they're sold (which is immediately).

The $15 sold online are likely fakes. No one is selling a real Labubu for that price these days. People are buying them up and reselling them for $50 online. The hobby shops in my city are selling them for $41.99USD. Even if you have money, it's hard to get them because there's more demand than supply. $41.99 for the regular ones, and they're always out of stock.

They were selling them for around 420- $50 AUD until recently. Sold out now though.
There was one crazy expensive one on there though for $1580. Also sold out.

Yeah, the ones on the official PopMart site are real. But the ones being sold for a lower price on Ebay or Marketplace are likely fakes. 40-50AUD is about $27USD which is what PopMart USA sells their Labubus for too.

My sister wanted to get a set of 6 Labubus. We had 4 phones and refreshed the page right when they dropped, but we weren't able to get them. They sell out as soon as they are available.

Many things about Gen Z don't make sense to me. They get crazy and overboard with things that would be considered stupid by someone in my generation. But then, that's how they are and I won't be judgemental. I assume that they had the financial capacity to buy them. It would be icing of extra stupidity on a cake of craziness if someone is under debt for this.

I think you're forgetting some of the fads of the past. When the Tickle Me Elmo toy came out in 1996 people went crazy for it. Some people even got arrested fighting over them. That was Gen X and Boomers, not Gen Z.

How frustrating! Not my thing, but it must be annoying if you wanted one.

Sometimes the prices hike because of all these marketing both positive and negatives. Celebrity endorsement make such simple things go over hyped and over priced. Day before yesterday, I read an entertainment column in the newspaper where Twinkle Khanna has expressed her liking for collecting these dolls. She used to be Bollywood actor, is an author and is wife of popular actor, Akshay Kumar.
