Its a good one but at the end of the day, you will still spend money to buy the snacks.

Some good looking snacks cost a lot in different locations. Don't indulge them with their high cost . go with your snacks

Like I had mentioned, I like to call such treats "mini-meals".

I like to pack sandwiches. I like to pack chips too, but soon am not going to be able to chew such chips. Hammy Sammy are moist and soft and easy to chew. Delicious and frugal. I can get all 3 ingredients at the Dollar Tree!

a pound of chopped up thick bologna
4 chopped pickles
mix with mayonnaise

I also not only like to take a drink cooler, I like to take a water bottle of sweet tea. For example, every so often I go to the cafe where I used to work and the sweet tea there is $1.75! Then, there are days when I am out with friends and the friends go to the fast food drive-thru. I am already set and do not need to spend a dime.

Before Travel, if we buy snacks in good offers and keep in our Backpack, it is a good idea.
In some places, especially in Malls or Airports, snacks are often higher priced.
One can do the same with Soft Drinks & Juices.
Such arrangements can help a lot in keeping our costs down.

Consume food and drink before you leave too! For example, yesterday, I had to run on errands. I thought that my transportation would be prompt. I waited and did not consume any food. When the transportation finally arrived and very late, I just needed a few minutes. After my quick shopping, I had to sit in the car and wait in the parking lot as the driver wanted to mess with the cellular phone! By then, I was starving and weak. So, I begged the driver to stop at Taco Bell for 2 soft tacos.

Again, be prepared!

This is actually a legit tip applicable when you are traveling to areas where things are more expensive.
For example, tourist hotspots do jack up food and drink prices. You will end up paying more for packed snacks and bottled or canned drinks.
If you pack it in your backpack, you can save and utilize it for actual meals at proper restaurants or cafes instead.

I like to think of appointments ahead so as not to forget to pack food and drink. There are simply mornings when I get that stinking thinking such as "Oh, I should only be a few minutes"... "Oh, I am not going to be hungry"...

I have found out that I need to pack more than just water to drink. Only packing water to drink makes myself tired, weak and hungrier. I have to pack diet soft drinks.

When I have an appointment next, I am going to pack bread pizza. I can still chew the bread pizza.

Make sense? ;) ;)

Yes it is to plan your meals, create a shopping list, and avoid shopping when hungry. Utilize coupons and promo codes, and consider packing your own snacks and drinks when traveling.

This subject has kind-of told myself to prepare some homemade protein balls or protein cookies. I love the taste just preparing the treats though is messy. I have to wear latex gloves because of all of the peanut butter! ;) ;)

By bringing your own snacks, you can avoid the higher prices often seen at airports, train stations, and tourist attractions.

What are some good mini meals to pack for when running errands? Type of food and drink, name-brand of the food, cost of the food, etc.

I often do it. It's many years I leave food in my backpack. Due to my multiple allergies, I can't bump into the ordinary food sold in the shopping malls or worse, at the station or in streets (it's always junk food) or I'll end up to emergency.

Pack a variety of snacks to keep things interesting, like, nuts, dried fruits, homemade trail mix. You can even prepare some fresh fruit or veggie sticks for a refreshing crunch.

Make your own snacks like trail mix, popcorn, or granola bars to control ingredients and reduce costs.

Thank you for your options such as homemade trail mix. However, I need a filling option. I have mentioned sandwiches. Prepare freezer sandwiches as an example.

Yes, sometimes I really pack nuts, almonds and dried fruits. I don't pack fresh fruits and vegetables because hands gets easily dirty and there is not always the possibility to find a sink to rinse hands (for ex., if I'm in a train).

They can definitely help curb hunger between meals. Nuts are high in healthy fats and protein, which can keep you satisfied for longer. Dried fruits are packed with vitamins and minerals, and provide natural sugars for energy. The fresh fruits and veggies add fiber and hydration.

Having your own snacks on hand can help you resist the temptation of less healthy options when you're out and about.
